As Georgiana sat in the car, she couldn't shake off the feeling of astonishment at how far she had let things go with Arthur. Despite her desire for intimacy, she felt a sense of unease, as if she had lost control over her own actions. The drive back to her house was a blur, the same route they had taken earlier but now the darkness was covered by the glow of streetlights and the cars returning to the city. The tension between them still lingered in the air.
