Chapter 17

1066 Words
The sun is slowly fading as well as Enjo’s memories. His vision became blurred and it seems like everything around him is moving. He tried to close his eyes for a minute and he knelt down since he felt like his body is heavy and he felt like he wanted to take a rest for a second. An hour has passed. It was dark and the ground where Enjo fell on is grassy and comfy so he can’t help himself from taking a nap. Enjo tried to open his heavy eyelids. It was blurry at first but after a minute of adjusting his vision, he realized where he was. He tried to remember what happened earlier but unfortunately, he failed. Although he couldn’t remember anything and why he was here, he can still remember his name. It seems like something is missing for him. He felt like he has something to do here so he didn’t go to their modern castle immediately. Even though it was dark, he still tried to do his best to look for something important for him. “I knew you it was you!” shouted Lyn at the top of her lungs when she saw his silhouette roaming around. Even though Lyn couldn’t see him and the only light source is the moon, she knew that it was him because of his stance and aura. As soon as Enjo heard her, he looked in the direction where the voice came from. His eyebrows were furrowed when he saw her. She doesn’t seem familiar to him but Enjo felt like he had seen her and he had heard her voice before. “Who even are you?” he asked confusingly while slowly walking in her direction. “And how do you know my name?” “Huh?” asked Lyn as she squints her eyes and looks at him. She knew that it was him and she didn’t have to look at him again because she definitely knew his voice. Lyn’s eyes were wide open because she was worried and stunned at the same time. Her hands were cold and sweating while holding on to the rusty rail. She doesn’t know how to convince him and she was terrified to accept the fact that she might die here in hunger. Enjo is her only hope. “I don’t want here, please,” she pleaded while she was trying to reach him. Enjo stepped back slowly while looking at her with disgust. He didn’t know what to do because he felt like he needs her but he couldn’t even remember her and it seems like she was just a random outcast. In the end, he ran as fast as he could and he left her because might be seen talking to a stranger. He also doesn’t know how to explain to his mom if he met her here in this situation. Lyn tried to call his name while he was running away from her. She felt betrayed and confused because of the way he looked at her with disgust on his face. Her hands were dirty and full of stained rust. She looked at her dirty hands and at herself. She seemed hopeless and worried that she might die here alone. Even though she was hungry and exhausted, she still managed to call his name and shout for help but he ignored her. “Where have you been?” asked Benji joyfully with his wide smile as usual when he met Enjo outside their modern castle. He was startled at first when Benji asked him. Enjo was still bothered about the girl he met earlier who was in jail. Even though he couldn’t remember the important moments in his life, he can still remember his name and his brother. “Are you okay?” he questioned Enjo because Benji noticed that he looks terrified and bothered like he saw something unusual in the woods. “No, are YOU okay?” asked Enjo, emphasizing the word. Benji looked exhausted and he has some obvious bruises on his left arm. Both of his cheeks were red as well as his eyes. “Don’t worry about me,” he answered Enjo’s question. “I am perfectly fine,” he continued. “No, you’re not,” said Enjo because he wasn’t convinced that he really is fine since Benji’s bruises were obvious and Enjo noticed that he probably cried because of his red eyes. After he said that, Benji didn’t bother to convince him again that he is alright. He just smiled at him and he slowly turns away in a different direction so Enjo won’t see him crying again. Benji looked up at the sky to prevent himself from crying then he started to walk. “So, have you find her?” asked Benji to change the subject. They were walking in the hallway, heading to their laboratory. Enjo was behind him while he was walking in front of Enjo. Whenever Enjo tried to walk faster, Benji walks faster too so Enjo didn’t bother walking any faster. Benji was a little confused because of how he acts. He knew that Enjo won’t open up any topics about him when he is abused by Elisa since he is uncomfortable and he doesn’t want to be pitied by someone he knows especially Enjo. “Who is her?” asked Enjo back to him. “Lyn,” said Benji simply as he stopped and looked at him. The hallway was full of silence for a minute while they were looking at each other. They were both confused because of how they acted towards each other. “So, are you telling me that I did this,” said Benji as he pointed out his red cheeks and bruises. “For nothing?!” he asked angrily. He couldn’t help himself from shouting at Enjo because he thought that everything went right as they planned. “It’s been an hour or two,” sighed Benji. “What did you do this whole time?” he asked, trying his best not to cry again in front of him. “I don’t know,” answered Enjo while staring at the floor, looking for answers. “I’m sorry.” Because of annoyance, Benji left him, and he went to his room to lock himself. He was confused and annoyed at him at the same time.
