Chapter 23

1115 Words
Lyn was lucky since it is not crowded in the comfort room and Sharley is the only person that she met. Her eyes couldn’t meet hers and they were trying to find the answers while Sharley was waiting for her to say her name. It was awkward since Lyn was not talking and not even a single word came out from her mouth. Sharley noticed that their situation was getting awkward so she tried to ask questions about her. While Lyn was avoiding eye contact with Sharley, she saw Enjo stopped running from afar and they had an eye contact. Her eyes widened when Lyn noticed that he saw her talking to other people. Since Lyn’s shocked face was obvious, Sharley looked in the direction where Lyn was looking. She saw Enjo, catching his breath after a long run. Sharley never knew that they knew each other. “I am sorry. She is my younger cousin,” said Enjo as he held Lyn’s wrist to take her away from her. “Ah I see.. You guys have similar features,” chuckled Sharley. “But why do you guys have different hair colors?” she asked. His eyes widened when he noticed that his reason was not right. He literally forgot the difference between their hair colors. A lot of people knew that the royal family are not allowed to talk to people like Lyn with dark-haired-color. Enjo doesn’t know his response to her question so he just smiled at her and he started to walk away but Sharley didn’t let him pass. She was eager to know the reason because his response was odd for her. “I never saw her studying in this school before,” said Sharley as she looked at her from head to toe. “It is none of your business,” responded Enjo before pushing her so they could go away. It was Enjo’s first time talking to her. He knows that she is his classmate but he never talked to her ever since she became his classmate. It was also his first time hearing her voice since she was shy in their classroom and she barely participated in recitations. Her voice was familiar and Enjo felt like he heard it before but he was not sure where he heard it. He thought that she is an introvert and she had not talked to anyone before. “I told you to wait for me on the exit,” said Enjo when they successfully left the school. “I know,” she replied. “I am sorry.” When Enjo asked her about who else she had met, Lyn didn't know if she would say that she met Benji at first. In the end, she told him that she met Benji since it would not be a big deal because they were siblings after all. Enjo looked at her with his eyebrows furrowed so Lyn looked at him. She was confused because of how he acted. Lyn thought that it would not be a problem about it but she knows that it would be a huge problem if she did not say it to him. “What about it?” asked Lyn when she saw Enjo massaging his temple. “Is it a big deal?” “To be honest, it is not really a big deal,” he responded. “I just need to explain to him and he will probably understand. He is confused right now for sure.” As they arrive safely at the modern castle, they quickly head to the laboratory so Enjo can give the last invented formula for Lyn to drink. He recorded and observed her behaviour every hour. He also gave Lyn a worksheet to know if something changed on her knowledge and he ordered her to do some physical activities. Enjo noticed that her stamina was getting stronger and she had made progress. There are no negative results for now but he will still keep it secret for now because someone might copy his idea again. After a few tries of Lyn reciting some formulas that Enjo gave to her, she stopped and looked at it to know if she was right. The laboratory room was silent but they suddenly heard a growl beside the curtains. They also heard the glass cracking from the direction where they heard it and that made them look at it. They were both shocked, especially Lyn since she still doesn’t know that there is a huge creature behind the curtain. She thought that the creatures here that Enjo and Benji experimented with are just as small as the cup because that is what she only saw when she observed them on the shelf. The growl was kinda loud and deep so Lyn knew that it would be a massive creature. “Why didn't you tell me about it?” whispered Lyn as she stepped back from where they heard the growl coming from. “I will handle this,” said Enjo. “Go to the other room and lock the door.” As soon as Lyn heard his orders, she quickly opened the door of the other room quietly while looking at the direction where the growl came from. She did not close the door as soon as she saw something under the curtain. They saw the liquid coming out from the curtain. Enjo was confused since he thought that the incubator and the jail of the huge creatures that they experimented on were safe. He thought that nothing will go wrong if no one will be there to change the options on the incubator. He also does not know why the glass of the incubator was broken. When Lyn saw him going in that direction slowly, she also slowly closed the metal door as quietly as possible so she would not disturb him. She was scared for Enjo but she believes in him. Lyn wanted to help him but she didn't know how so she just stared at the corner. “What was that?” asked Lyn to herself as she heard a familiar sound. She could not explain why the sound was familiar but she knew that she had heard it before. The sound was unusual and she felt like she heard it coming at the back of the shelf that was full of books and other experimented creatures that are underneath the plain cloth. Lyn looked at the creatures and she forgot why she went there. As soon as she remembers that she would check the back of the shelf, she quickly went behind it. “Benji, how did you end up here?”
