They both remained silent and they were both shocked looking at each other. Lyn did not know if she should open the door and tell Enjo that Benji was here. As soon as she decided to open the door, Benji held her arm and gestured to her to stay quiet. He did not answer Lyn’s question about how he ended up here, instead he tried to change the topic and acted like it was not a big deal to sneak out.
“Can we pretend like we did not meet?” mocked Benji sarcastically. He remembers that she said that to him when they met in their school so he also said it back to her.
When Lyn realized that Benji ended up here because he can travel effortlessly or teleport to one place from another, she thinks that he might be the reason why there was a problem behind the curtains. She also thought that Benji teleported behind the curtains accidentally instead of a place that is why the huge creature growled and was irritated because of his actions.
The laboratory became quiet where Enjo was in right now with the massive creature that growled earlier. Shivers traveled on Lyn’s spine when she suddenly heard the growl again but this time, it is much louder. She does not know if she will open the door and help him because she doesn't know how to tame it anyway. Lyn looked at Benji with her concerned face and Benji looked back at her.
As soon as Benji saw her genuine concerned face in her eyes, he sighed and grabbed all his strength and confidence to face the massive creature that they made a few months ago for an experiment. He started to walk towards the door and held the door handle. Before he turned the door handle, he let go of it. He was planning to teleport quietly to the room where Benji and the massive creature was in.
“Be safe,” said Lyn before Benji left. “How I wish I could help.”
Lyn stayed in the room for a few minutes. She sat on the corner and waited for them to tame the creature that they experimented with. There are a lot of thoughts that are clouding her mind. The truth strikes her when she realizes that Enjo is also experimenting on her like a lab rat so she thought that she might also lose her mind and act like some sort of creature. She was sad because she thinks that they both did not actually care for her and treated her as their friend, instead they treated her like a lab rat.
“That was a bit tougher than I thought,” said Benji as soon as he teleported back to the room where Lyn was in.
He looked for Lyn in the room and he found her sitting in the corner. Lyn looked sad and empty because she was staring at the floor. Benji could not help himself from checking on her because the way she acted is concerning. At first, he did not know what to do because he was confused since Lyn was alright and doing fine a while ago but then she acted not normal now without any reason.
“Are you scared?” asked Benji to her while slowly walking towards her direction. “It is over now,” he said.
“Where is she?” questioned Enjo as he opened the door while trying his best to catch his breath because of what happened earlier. “Are you okay?” he asked her.
They did not get any response from Lyn. She was just still looking down at the floor and they both could not see her face clearly since her long hair is blocking her face so they do not know if she is alright. Benji slowly kneels in front of her and tucked her hair behind her ears so he can clearly look at her expressions.
“Can you tell me about what you are feeling?” asked Enjo to her again while he was taking out his pocket notebook and his black ballpen.
“Do not act like you two are concerned about me,” she finally responded as she grabbed Enjo’s pocket notebook, tore down the pages and threw it away. “You are just using me for your stupid experiments and inventions.”
The two boys were shocked because of what she said. They were dead silent because she was right. No one dared to talk so the room was full of deafening silence. After a few seconds, Lyn stood and decided to get out of this mansion. She doesn't know how to go back to her world and she does not want to get some help from the two boys who deceived her and made her as one of their lab rats.
“Where are you going?” asked Benji as soon as he saw her stand up.
“I should have not listened to both of you,” said Lyn before she opened the door. “My instincts were right.”
Benji quickly grabbed her arms and he faced her while Lyn refused to look at his eyes so she looked down at the floor. The strands of her hair that Benji tucked behind her ears a while ago fell when she looked down so Benji tucked it again behind her ears as he tried to cupped her face and caressed her cheek. He was terrified and nervous because Lyn already knew that they were just using her but he did not want to do it anyway.
“Is that how you treat the person who gave you strength and knowledge?” asked Enjo bluntly while looking at her with no emotions at all.
As soon as Lyn heard what he said, she looked up at him slowly and she saw his emotionless face. She looked at his eyes and she can see that Enjo does not really care for her and he meant what he said. At first, she did not believe that he really said that in front of her but as soon as she saw his face, she realized that he really meant it. She was shocked because she did not know that Enjo could say something about that to her.
“You are a piece of trash who should not be in this world,” she said back to him emotionlessly before Enjo knocked her down.
It happened so fast. Benji could not even have a chance to stop him because he did not see it coming. He was stunned and he stood there for a minute, trying to process what happened while looking at Lyn lying down with blood staining the white tiled floor.
