As soon as Lyn woke up, she felt something different. It seems like her weight has become lighter and the burden that she was carrying the whole time was gone. The emotional and physical pain that she had felt before was also gone. Her bruises and scars on her wrists were immediately healed. She felt strong and motivated to do some work. Lyn couldn’t understand what she was feeling but she knows that Enjo helped her.
Lyn stood up from sitting on the bed. She looked around the laboratory. Her vision became clear and there were a lot of thoughts clouding her mind. It was unbelievable for advanced technology to give basic knowledge and strength to someone. Enjo brought back the syringe and the transparent ball which contained micro-machines that he injected into Lyn. He placed it on his shelf and locked it so no one will ever steal his idea anymore.
“Basically, that is like a Ruoculous but much better,” answered Enjo to Benji when he noticed that Benji was looking at him with his confused face.
“Apparently, you added something onto it,” said Benji as he walked towards him.
While they were talking, Lyn was still wandering around the laboratory. She tries to understand what was written on the glass. There are different species in the glass that are placed on the shelf. The dates and the names of the species that Benji and Enjo experimented with are written on the glass. Lyn was amazed when she realized how hardworking they are. It was a bit hard for her to understand the terms but with the help of the Ruoculous that was injected into her, she can easily understand it after a few minutes of staring at it.
When Lyn stared at the species for so long, she noticed that there are terms and meanings on the focused object. She then looked at her left side where she could see the boys talking. As soon as she focused on them, their names popped up on Lyn’s vision and she could see their information and status.
“Is something bothering you?” asked Enjo when he noticed that Lyn was looking at them.
“It was nothing,” she answered as she shook her head.
She walked and wandered again after. It was her first time to see the world with colorful and bright colors as soon as she was injected by it. Also, she felt like everything she had seen was described and written because the information that the Ruoculous gave to her is really useful and effective. Lyn was the first one to try the new experiment that Enjo made so they still don’t know the effects that she will get.
“Why did I not know about this?” asked Benji to Enjo with a disappointment in his voice.
They were both mad at each other but they tried their best to communicate by whispering so they would not catch Lyn’s attention. After a minute, they could not help but to shout at each other. When Lyn could not hear her thoughts because of them shouting, she looked at them and she walked towards them. Enjo saw her walking towards their direction in his peripheral vision.
“It seems like both of you are arguing about something,” said Lyn with her innocent face.
Enjo looked at her from head to toe with his eyebrows furrowed. He observes her every movement and actions while Lyn stares at their eyes. Her eyes glowed and they both saw it because they were also looking at her. Lyn saw a bit of information above their head. There is a lot of information she could read because she was close to them and she is having eye contact with the subject.
“What did you see?” asked Enjo as soon as he saw her eyes glow while they were looking at each other.
“Your name, age, status, and…” she answered his question while squinting both of her eyes. “What is this?” whispered Lyn. “And even your hair color?”
Benji’s eyes widened when he heard her answer. He was amused and shocked at the same time. Enjo quickly took down notes about what she said. His invention was successful but he had to wait and see for the result on the next day to know if there were any differences and effects. He asked more questions about what she felt and he continuously took down notes about her answers.
He wrote about the effects on physical appearance for the first day. They were both busy talking to each other while Benji was just looking at them. He doesn’t know if he would feel happy for his brother, Enjo, because his work and efforts paid off or if he would feel bad for his friend, Lyn, because Enjo is just using her. Benji also doesn’t know what to do so he just sat there and listened to them.
“I just remembered,” started Lyn. “When we first met…”
“What about it?” asked Enjo while he was still busy writing down notes.
After he was done writing down what Lyn said earlier, he closed his pocket notebook and he looked up at her with his eyes wide open, curious about what she wanted to say.
“I remember you said that you didn’t know if I was already contaminated or not so you sprinkled the alcohol all over my face,” started Lyn. I would like to know about the history of the virus that once roamed around here,” she said, straight to the point.
“Your memory and knowledge are improving,” he said with amusement. “I didn’t know that you would know the existence of alcohol.”
An hour had passed but they were still talking. Benji was already bored listening to them talking so he went out for a walk. He also doesn’t know her purpose now because it seems like his brother doesn’t need his help anymore. After he had a quick walk, he went into his room to study in advance about their lesson since they will be having a class tomorrow morning. At this point, he doesn’t know if Enjo would still be able to attend tomorrow because no one will be with Lyn if he will go to class. He shrugged off his thoughts about it and he started to focus on what he was reading. Even though he tried his best to focus on reading, he couldn’t help himself from overthinking about everything.
“Well, I guess he doesn’t need me anymore,” he whispered while looking at the book.
