CHAPTER ELEVEN Ian moved quickly, hands in his pockets, double checking he hadn't dropped any of the tips from today. Oftentimes when sorting receipts and bills, the two could become mixed. Last week, after a double shift, he'd lost half his gratuity. As he slowed, pausing beneath a streetlamp on the sidewalk, he felt a jolt of relief as his fingers found the rolled up, rubber-banded bills still sitting where he'd left them. He zipped his pocket and continued on his way, whistling as he did. Tonight had been a good night. A very good night. He nodded cheerfully as he passed a younger woman walking a very big dog.
