The moment Aurora chose to join my team, Mark’s face contorted into a scowl, his lips twisted into a sarcastic smirk. His disapproval only fueled my amusement, and I couldn't help but laugh uncontrollably. The more Mark scowled, the harder I laughed, until my sides ached from the effort.
"Why are you so selfish, Lucian?" Mark fumed. "I can't believe you're taking her away from me. Aurora, watch out for your boss; he's a sly one."
I watched Aurora as she fiddled nervously with the file in her hands. Her lashes fluttered before she met my gaze, and in that moment, a potent mix of admiration and desire stirred within me.
