Aurora’s POV
My heart pounded as I waited for Kaden to respond, each passing second stretching into eternity. The silence between us grew heavy, and I could feel the tension gnawing at me.
“Kaden, please, say something,” I begged, my voice trembling. “I know this changes everything between us, but I need to hear what you’re thinking. I won’t blame you if you’re disgusted or angry.”
He remained silent, as though his voice had been stolen. The hum of passing cars seemed to mock the quiet, amplifying my growing dread. Why had I revealed such a personal secret? It felt like my whole world was on the verge of collapsing, and the thought of being thrown out of the apartment only added to my anxiety.
“I... I’m at a loss for words. I don’t even know where to start. Is this some kind of joke?”
