“And the Bible tells us in the book of 1 John that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Grandma Lucy sat in her wheelchair and beamed at Ruby in her Garfield scrubs. “That promise is for all of us, no matter how sinful we are or how hard it is for us to believe that God could ever accept someone so unworthy. There’s nothing you can do to stop God from loving you, nothing you have done that he’s not ready and willing to forgive, right here, right now.”
The nurse Ruby glanced over when Brad came into the room. Mascara streaked down her cheeks.
Grandma Lucy took her hand in hers. “Shall I pray for you? Would you like to accept this wonderful gift of grace and forgiveness that Jesus offers?”
