Chapter TwoLord Ravenscar was finishing his breakfast when Viscount Garson walked into the room carrying a newspaper.
“Good morning, Anthony!” Lord Ravenscar muttered.
“Here is The Gazette,” the Viscount replied, “which all your friends will now be gaping at with protruding eyes.”
Lord Ravenscar did not reply. He merely poured himself another cup of coffee.
“I presume you are still brave enough to face the gossips and ride with me in Hyde Park?” the Viscount asked, seating himself at the table.
Lord Ravenscar’s face darkened and he responded curtly,
“I started this thing and I will see it through, whatever it costs me.”
“I am only sorry,” the Viscount remarked, “that we cannot be present when Atalie reads the announcement of your marriage.”
