SHE IS A THREAT
After giving it so much thought, Dorah decided to go and help Juliana out. She was still in the quest to win Cooper's love and it would eventually pay off when she is best friends with Juliana. Keep your enemies closer is the mantra that she decided to work with.
She was also lonely and she always wanted to keep her away from Cooper. This is like killing two birds with one stone.
Dorah's favourite colour was black because it reflected her personality. After wearing all black, she went over to the bakery.
Juliana was already in. She was kneading dough when she rang the doorbell. She was shocked to see her but Dorah pretended to be all friendly. She had her goal at the end of the day and she was going to do all it takes to achieve it.
For a second, it hit Juliana that opening that door and letting Dorah in was not a good idea but she decided to do it anyway. She had chosen to maintain an open mind and she hoped that this will not be one of those things that will end up messing her.
"You come way too early. I have not completed baking my first set of cupcakes," Juliana excused herself as she pocketed on her black apron.
"Good morning to you," Dorah said, forcing a smile and Juliana was confused.
"Sorry…I didn't…" Juliana did not know what to say.
"I am here to help you. You are new in town and I have lived here for years. You need me in your corner for this bakery to be a success," Dorah said as she walked in after Juliana paved the way for her.
Juliana was still mesmerised by her actions. She had thought that Dorah was a mean girl but it turned out that she was actually kind. She was here at this hour of the morning to help her out. She could be doing her shenanigans but no, she decides to be here to offer her some help.
Dorah didn't waste time. She grabbed an apron on the hook and put it on.
"Guide me. I want to learn how to bake as I help you around here. I know that you need my help," Dorah said.
"Okay, sure," Juliana decided to live at the moment. She was kind to her hence she decides to be kind also.
"Sure, I will show you how to bake," Juliana said as she walked over to the conventional oven.
"Yaay! I am so excited," Dorah said, forcing a smile.
Juliana went ahead to take the cupcakes out. She dug a needle through them to ensure that they had baked properly.
"The aroma is heavenly," Dorah commented as he sniffed in the air.
"You can have a bite once we decorate it," Juliana said with a smile.
"Oh I can't wait! I know for sure that it will be delicious. I can already tell from the aroma," Dorah said.
"Thank you," Juliana said as she reached for a lower drawer. She took two piping bags.
"Here, have this. I had already prepared my favourite of them all, blueberry icing. We are going to decorate our cupcakes with it," Juliana said and Dorah gave her all the attention.
Juliana showed her how to decorate one and they ended up decorating the rest.
So far, Dorah had not found out anything about Juliana and who she was hence she decided to ask him a few questions.
"So, why did you decide to move to Virgin River?" She asked.
"Well, I just wanted to start again," Juliana said. She was keen not to explain all the details to her. For a reason, she realised that she could not trust her. She had not earned her trust yet.
"Tell me about your first kiss. I know it's weird to ask but most women love telling about that day which is technically the best day of their lives," Dorah explained and Juliana's face was suddenly drained.
What was she going to say? She has never been kissed.
Dorah noticed that Juliana was a bit uncomfortable hence she decided to share her experience hoping that Juliana was going to share hers once she was done.
" I can still remember my first kiss as if it was yesterday. Well, Cooper was so romantic. He took me outside and we kissed under the stars," Dorah lied and Juliana dropped the piping bag.
She was not expecting that Dorah's first kiss was Cooper. One thing stood out for her though after this experience and that is the fact that Dorah and Cooper had been dating for a really long time.
She had to forget about Cooper completely. She cannot compete with Dorah who had been with him for so many years .
"Are you okay?" Dorah rushed to her side when Juliana dropped the piping bag.
" I am fine, I am just anxious about today," Juliana lied.
" You do not have to worry. Everything will be okay. I promise," Dorah tried to comfort her.
"What if people fail to turn up?" Juliana expressed her biggest fear. She had already learnt that the people here don't like baked foods because they have a high caloric content. The people of Virgin River value fitness more than anything.
"Breath in," Dorah advised as she went over to gently massage her shoulders.
Juliana did as she was told. She breathed in and out as Dorah calmed her down.
"You will be okay." Dorah said.
"Thank you," Juliana mumbled, arching her lips upwards. She was overwhelmed. She hoped that this day would be perfect. If not, it will really break her. She had done the most to leave her hometown and pursue her true passion.
" As a distraction, feel free to tell me about your first kiss," Dorah said.
" Okay let me be candid," Juliana said. A part of her felt that she could trust Dorah.
" Tell me about it. Tell me everything," Dorah begged.
"Truth is, I am still a virgin. I not only come here to look for a fresh start and to start a bakery, but I also come here to find true love and true friendship," Juliana confessed as Dorah widened her eyes.
She could already feel that Juliana was a threat. She needed to be eliminated.
