Chapter 6- Is This Guy For Real?

883 Words
I wake up at 9:50 am, probably missing my dad at work. I have only ten minutes to get ready and meet the boys outside, which feels impossible. By the time I'm ready, it’s 10:05 am, and I hear a car horn. I grab my phone, purse, and house keys, having skipped breakfast. I open the front door to find all the guys waiting, with two vehicles in the driveway. Justin says, "You're late; 10:00 am sharp means 10:00 am, nothing more." I roll my eyes. The boys are all dressed similarly in jeans and shirts. Justin continues, "You'll ride with Carlos, Luke, and me, while Kyle and the evil twins take the other car." I nod, lock the front door, and head to the car. When we reach the mall, we go straight to the food court since no one has eaten. I order waffles and scrambled eggs with hot chocolate. Justin gets pancakes and milk, Luke orders scrambled eggs with toast and coffee, Carlos has a bacon and cheese sandwich with orange juice, Kyle gets toast with butter and orange juice, and the twins choose bacon, cheese, and egg sandwiches with chocolate milk. Luke suggests, "Let’s start with dresses, then jeans and tops, then shoes, and finally hair." Hair too? I sigh as the boys pull me into a store, attracting attention from the girls, especially the staff. I love expensive clothes. If my mom weren't in jail, my closet would be filled with them. I pick out six dresses, including a high-waisted one Justin chose, which hugs my curves perfectly. I select blue, pink, purple, white, light green, and light red. Next, Jordan shops with me in the section for mini skirts, shorts, crop tops, strap tops, and tank tops. Jordan says, "Now this is what I call clothes." I try on five mini skirts with tank tops, all fitting as if made for me. I end up with five mini skirts, seven tank tops, eight crop tops, nine strap tops, and three pairs of shorts. Carlos drags me to the leather section. I try on seven leather jeans, six jackets, and three pairs of black heels. I whine, "I’m tired; can we rest now?" Kyle replies, "No, it’s my turn for shoes." I groan and follow him into the shoe store. I try on five heels, two heeled boots to match my leather outfits, and three pairs of Converse. Shoe shopping is definitely faster than clothes shopping. Jacob carries me to pick out five fitted party dresses. Afterward, we have lunch at the food court, and the boys help carry my shopping bags. I ask, "What’s next?" Luke says, "Your hair and nails." I sigh. It’s 2:00 pm when I enter the salon. A woman greets me, "You're just in time for your appointment. Luke, come back in an hour." Luke hugs her and leaves. She asks, "Do you really need those glasses?" I take them off, and she smiles, "Sit; we have much to do." Two hours later, I barely recognize myself. They didn’t put on any makeup but styled my hair and waxed my eyebrows. My hair is now down and curled, reaching the middle of my back. My nails are filed and painted a shiny silver. I thank the stylist and wait for Luke. When he arrives, he gasps. I smirk, "Done checking me out?" He blushes. I walk back to the boys, who all stare at me. Jordan says, "Hi sexy, wanna go on a date with me?" I laugh, "Not gonna happen; keep dreaming." He sighs. Justin suggests, "Since we’re done, let’s go to Ana’s house and chill by her pool." I nod. We take a picture together with all seven of us. When we get to my house, Jordan says, "Wow, this is big. Justin, you alone don’t have a big house." Justin rolls his eyes, "At least I have a hot tub." I smirk, "Yeah, and I have a theater room with Netflix." His smile fades. I unlock the door, and the guys drop my bags in my room before heading to the pool while I change into my bikini. I put on a pink bikini and grab two cases of soda from the fridge for the guys. Jordan says, "Now this is what I call relaxing on a Saturday evening." Carlos and Jacob stare at me, and I ask, "You lost something?" They quickly look away, and I smirk. I drink three sodas and eat pizza the boys ordered. Kyle, Luke, and Jacob jump into the pool while I lean over, holding Justin’s hand, who holds onto Jordan and Carlos. Kyle suddenly pulls me into the pool, and the boys fall in after me. I laugh at Justin's furious expression. He hisses, "Kyle, you’re so dead when I get my hands on you." I laugh, and someone shouts, "What’s going on here?!" I turn to see my dad with his arms crossed. Jacob mumbles, "Uh oh." I smile, "Hi Dad, these are my friends." He looks at all the boys, then locks eyes with Luke, saying, "Okay, as long as Luke is with you," before heading back inside. Justin says, "That was close." I agree, "Yeah, at least he’s not strict with me. Since Mom left, he’s been kind and patient."
