Chapter 13 the date

Update   Ava’s P.O.V   When Isaiah arrived at my house. I wasn’t quite ready, so I hurried and got dressed, but I didn’t have time to do my hair the way I wanted to and ended up doing a side braid instead, which turned out really nice. I put a light amount of make-up on and I was done, so I hurried back into the living room, not wanting to keep him waiting. God he must think I am so slow or unorganised for not being ready, I thought, but then he surprised me by smiling and saying I looked beautiful. I smiled brightly as we left my house and went to his car. He was such a gentleman with how he opened and closed the door for me. The whole drive there was comfortable and when we pulled up at the restaurant I was really happy as I had been meaning to come here for a while, but never had the time. Isaiah must have come here a lot before as the hostess knew him and his family, which made me a little jealous with how she was smiling at him, but I wasn’t prepared to hear about his mother. My heart dropped when the hostess passed on her condolences for the death of his mother. This guy must be going through every emotion possible right now and yet he looks like he is keeping it together really well, I thought which only made me more determined to make this night a magical night for him. I asked him about his mother and even though I didn’t know her I still passed on my own condolences.   “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to intrude.” I whispered, but looked down at my hands as I felt bad for upsetting him.   “No, it’s okay, you didn’t know. So come on, how do you like the restaurant?” Isaiah asked, obviously wanting to change the subject, so I smiled and nodded.   “Yeah, I really do, it's very beautiful inside here.” I said, but then he just smirked at me.   “Not as beautiful as you are.” Isaiah said, wiggling his eyebrows at me as I blushed. I chuckled as he carried on wiggling his eyebrows at me and then the waitress came over, taking the order for our food and drinks. We sat there talking until our food was brought to us and then we started eating, but kept smiling and looking at each other. We finished our food and drinks, then talked for hours, just getting to know each other. I don’t know what it was but I felt like something was drawing me to him, like a magnet pulling me in and it was like when he wasn’t near me I felt cold and lonely, which was weird considering as it had only been a few days. I tried to get a little closer to him, so that at least our legs or arms were touching and I had a feeling he liked it because he soon wrapped his arm around me, but it was pretty weird when he leaned in closer to me and sniffed my neck.   “Why did you do that?” I asked, curious and he just chuckled.   “Because you smell so good. That dress looks beautiful on you, but I think it would look better on my bedroom floor.” Isaiah replied, making me laugh. It was the lamest pick up line ever, but coming from him it was cute and I loved it. We spent hours in that restaurant and I think we even ended up helping to close it. Isaiah paid the bill and we left, but he didn’t take me straight home, instead we went to a cliff and parked up.   “Come on, I want to show you something.” Isaiah said, opening my door and holding his hand out for me. I immediately got out of the car and took his hm, trusting him completely. We walked a little towards the edge of the cliff and then Isaiah wrapped his arm around me, turning me so that my back was now against his chest, as we looked out onto the beautiful view of the forest.   “You see that? There are deer all over these grounds, even a few wolves and bears come here too. I love to come here and watch them.” Isaiah said, pointing to certain parts of the forest. I listened to him and the way he was talking, but it was more than just talking, it felt like he needed someone to really listen to him, so that's what I did. He talked about the forest and the animals that lived in there, then he looked up to the sky and the view was incredible.   “And you can see all the stars clearly from up here. I never brought anyone up here before, you’re the first one.” Isaiah said, looking back at me and making me blush a little.   “It's very beautiful up here and I feel honoured that you brought me here to see this. You said that wolves come here, which reminds me, did you hear all the howling a few weeks ago? I was driving home from work when I heard them and when I got back home I sat on my porch and listened to them. They sounded so sad that it brought tears to my eyes.” I replied and he nodded.   Isaiah’s P.O.V   She was talking about the night we fully sent mom off to be with the Moon Goddess, she was talking about how we all howled in grief, respect and sadness for her. I felt bad for not being able to tell her the truth, but I could tell her a few things, maybe even the truth in a roundabout sort of way.   “Yeah, I heard it too. You see when a wolf loses a family member they howl and then the rest of the group or pack joins in, but if other wolves hear them then they join in out of respect.” I said, telling her the truth of what we do, but not that it was me and my family doing it for my mom.   “I really love it when you talk about things like this and yeah I hear a lot living out in the woods, but I love nature. When my parents asked me to leave after I graduated, I moved here and found the house I’m living in now. I brought it and now it's all mine, just like the club. They are my babies.” Ava said and I smirked at her.   “Well I’m glad you moved here and have the club because now I can stalk you in your club.” I replied and she smirked back at me.    “You can stalk me anytime and anywhere you want.” Ava replied, making both of us laugh. We stood and looked at the stars for a little longer before heading back to the car and getting in.   “So, do you want to come over to mine tomorrow night and maybe watch a movie or two with me?” Ava asked, smiling. I thought for a few seconds about what I had planned for tomorrow and then remembered that dad needed me to go on a collection with him tomorrow night. I wasn’t sure how long it was going to take or if it was going to even be an easy collection or not.   “Well I have something with my dad tomorrow night, so if it doesn’t take too long I’ll be over. I only found out as I was leaving to come pick you up. Is that okay?” I asked, wanting to make sure.   “You’re not in the Mafia or something are you?” Ava asked, making my heart skip a beat, but then she giggled and I knew that she was messing with me. If only she knew the truth that I really was in the mafia, but it wasn’t just me, it was my whole family and my father was the king of the mafia.   “You never know when it comes to my family, but what happens if we were the mafia?” I asked, smirking. I was trying to gauge her reaction to it, but all she did was shrug.   “To each their own, I guess.” Ava replied, rolling down the window and letting the cool breeze come through.   Ava’s P.O.V   I was enjoying my night with Isaiah and the ride home, but when I decided to joke with him about the mafia I was surprised with the question he fired back at me. I tried to play it cool, like him being in the mafia wouldn’t matter, but the whole time I was shouting in my head HELL TO THE NO! Well, it would be cool dating a mafia guy as it would never be boring, but in all the movies I had watched those guys were complete and utter assholes and they liked to cheat, so hell to the no. I’m not going to die because I was dating a guy in the mafia. We made it back to my house and Isaiah opened the car door for me again, then walked me to my front door.   “I had a really wonderful time tonight, thank you, Isaiah.” I said, turning to face him.   “You’re more than welcome, babe.” Isaiah replied and I loved it when he called me babe.
