Chapter 20 meeting the family

Updated Ava’s P.O.V   I was shocked when I saw the huge house Isaiah and his family lived in. The outside was a beautiful white and there were gardens on the far side of the house that looked really nice and I would love to take a closer look at them sometime. Isaiah took my hand and led me up the steps and into the house, but when we walked inside I was surprised to see how everything was laid out. The living room had a huge TV mounted on the wall and there were also three big comfy couches, love seats and a couple of other chairs, as well as a white marble coffee table right in the middle of the room and a huge fireplace on the far left side. Although this room was huge, it still looked and felt cosy. There were a few photos up on the walls of what I’m assuming were Isaiah and his family, but I wasn’t really sure. There were a few kids sitting in the living room playing video games and a young girl with red hair smiled and waved at me, so I smiled and waved back. Isaiah led me down a huge hallway to yet another living room, which had a few people inside, but this one only had three couches, as well as a white throw rug under another white marble coffee table and the fireplace was on the far right wall, with a huge TV mounted on the left side. On the very back wall behind one of the couches there was a photo of a beautiful woman and she was surrounded by kids. I looked carefully at the photo and smiled.   “That's my mother with me and my siblings.” Isaiah said, watching me as I looked at the photo.   “She’s very beautiful.” I replied and he nodded.   “Yes, she was, thank you.” Isaiah said, then took my hand and led me further into the living room.   “We call this room the family room.” Isaiah said, just as a tall, muscular man stood up. He had short dark hair that reached his neck and he looked to be about 5.9 and he was very handsome, so I knew right away that he was Isaiah’s father, but I didn’t say anything and waited to be introduced.   “Ava, I would like for you to meet my dad, Mercury. As I told you we are mafia and my dad is the boss, but others call him the Alpha Don, the King of the mafia. He’s the head boss and makes the rules the way they are, but don’t worry, he’s not as mean as he looks.” Isaiah said and I smiled as I shook his hand. I was curious as to why he said Alpha Don instead of just Don, but I didn’t want to ask just yet.   “Don’t believe anything he says, I am as mean as they say I am, but I’m a big teddy bear when it comes to my family and friends.” Mercury said, chuckling as he shook my hand, but then a young woman gasped.   “Big teddy bear my butt.” The young girl said, standing up and she had the most beautiful curly hair.   “Hi, I’m Selena, Isaiah’s sister and over there are Isaiah’s other sisters Anna and I believe you have met Gabby. It's nice to meet you, Ava.” Selena said and I nodded, smiling at everyone. A few more people came in and stood there smiling at me, which made me a little self conscious at first with how they were looking at me.   “Sorry, we’re a pretty close family and there are loads of us. These are Anna’s children, Lexi and Joseph and those two are my children Polly and Nicole.” Selena said, introducing me to each of them. I smiled and nodded, shocked with how many there were, but then even more came in, shocking me with how big Isaiah’s family was.   “This is Anna’s mat...er….husband William, Gabby’s partner Terry and Selena’s husband Axel.” Isaiah said, as I shook hands with each of them. They all looked really happy and once I was finally done being introduced to everyone the only thing I could do was smile as I was so overwhelmed.   “It's very nice to meet all of you. Isaiah has told me a few things about you, like your father is the Alpha Don, the king of the mafia, but the only thing I don’t understand is what’s an Alpha?” I asked and Anna started gigging.   “Oh, er, an Alpha, well he’s the leader, he watches over his family and friends, protecting them from everything and anything that threatens them. The king of the mafia means that the other bosses have to come to him and ask him permission for certain things. I promise that it's nothing like Scarface or the Godfather, you don’t have to kiss his hand or ring or anything, but if anyone has a problem that needs fixing then they call him, tell him the problem and then dad either gives them the go ahead or sorts it out himself.” Anna replied and I nodded as I took in what she had said. It really didn’t seem that bad, unless things got out of hand and then I would hate to see what would happen then.   “Dad, I’m going to show Ava around, so we’ll meet up later for dinner, okay?” Isaiah said and Mercury nodded.   “That's fine, go ahead.” Mercury said, smiling. I smiled at each of them as I followed Isaiah out of the room and back down the hall.   “Come on, I’ll show you the gardens.” Isaiah said, making my head snap up to him. I gave him a confused and curious look, but he just started chuckling at me.   “I saw you looking towards them when we were walking into the house.” Isaiah said, answering the question I had yet to ask.   “I love gardens, but I haven’t had time to plant one. I do love to look at them and get ideas.” I replied, smiling as he led me back outside.
