Enzo POV The caravan was quiet for the whole day. We did not stop for lunch, just giving out food on the trot. Like before, the twins still kept an eye on the sky, and so did the horse. It was hard to see and nothing would stop them from glancing up now and then, the day was so hot, we traveled slowly, trying not to exhaust the horses. We stopped for the night, satisfied we were beyond the wild dragon’s reach, or at least as far as they had ever come in the past. I was hoping, with the loss of one of the leaders, that they would need more time to re-organize themselves and come after us again. Gus tried his best to feed us, but I think all of us were still thinking about Betty and wherever she was. My dragon acknowledged she was still alive, and not in any pain, so I was glad about that.
