It was a big relief to arrive through the palace gates. Then there was a lump in the pit of my stomach as I saw my mother with her ladies, waiting for me to arrive. If one tried to get near me, I was not sure how I would react. Dad had said he had everything under control, in which case why was that girl there with my mother? Surely, she knows I have a mate now?
