The three scouts were of no use, other than saying that a forest fire, not knowing where it started from, could mean the village we were headed to was gone. I am hoping for the best, but my gut is saying we are headed for some trouble, but what kind of trouble I have no idea. We changed our direction a tiny bit, hoping it was enough to go around the fire. We could see no sign of rain, which meant the fires could burn for a long time still. The ground was dry and a good source of fuel for a raging fire.
