"So, how did it go?" Max asks as he pulls me into a hug.
"Well, what do you think?" I say with a smile once I stop hugging him.
"I knew they would love you. You have a good rapport."
"Thank you for the flattery."
"You know it's true." As much as I feel Max is flattering me, he is kind of right.
My last encounter with Max at the concert wasn't good, but he is still my friend. Since I don't want anything to do with Adrian, that means avoiding his friends too, including Julia. Max is the only one left because he isn't close to Adrian. As far as I know, he doesn't even know him. So yeah, Max can be a jerk and a douchebag, but I'm stuck with him.
