Madison's POV: The pressure was trying to get overwhelming, especially with the thought of the fact that the twins' safety depended on me in the absence of my mate. I looked out a window to see the moonlight casting eerie shadows across the courtyard. The silence was almost unnerving, a stark contrast to the turmoil in my heart. It was hard to lay off the feeling of urgency, the sense that time was slipping away. I resolved to go to the library with the hope of discovering some old books that would have the answers I seek.
