"We wouldn't be here if you hadn't gotten into a fight with that fox," Sam told me rolling his eyes as I struggle to find the right size shoe.
"How was I supposed to know that it would go for my shoes," I growled, "those guys are sneaky."
"So the Big Bad Alpha got beaten by a sly fox," Sam pretended to be light-headed, "whatever shall we do?"
"Don't get on my nerves, Sam," I growled out which only added to his laughter.
He was my Beta and was currently helping me find my shoe size. "Ok, but why do you have such big feet?"
I glared at him and he put up his arms in surrender.
"Excuse me, young lady," Sam waved over a saleslady, "I'd like shoes that are size 15 for bigfoot over here."
The lady looked over to my feet and her eyes widened and I snapped, "Excuse me but my eyes are up here."
"Oh, um, yes of course. I'll get you the shoes right away." She answered, embarrassed at being caught. She quickly scampered in the other direction.
"Why are we even buying off the rack," I point over to the series of shoe aisled, "if I have personal designers."
"You have to learn to be humble," Sam started, "but I think we should go over to your designer. Stores like these never have your shoe sizes."
"Thanks for noticing," I grumbled. I've been cursed with big feet, which caused great teasing among my friends. Though, most people never get away with it except Sam.
I stood up swiftly as an intoxicating scent hit my nose. It made my mouth water and smelled like roses and honey. I scanned the crowd, looking for the source of the mouth-watering scent.
"Dude, why are you drooling?" Sam asked, clearly puzzled.
"Roses and honey." I subconsciously sighed.
"Ok, you're drooling, dreaming about a scent, and you're surprisingly happy..." Sam's eyes widen at the realization," Congratulations, welcome to the world of having a mate!"
I wasn't paying attention to him, though. I had locked eyes to piercing blue eyes that looked dangerous. I was slowly drinking her in. Taking notice of her tiny waist and curves. Her golden hair puts the sun to shame. Her freckles span out across her rosy cheeks. But she seemed to be thin and very fragile. She had an innocent face on and I wanted nothing more but to rob the innocence from her.
She broke eye contact with me when another male's arm wrapped around her waist. I stared daggers at the other male determining the perfect way to murder him. Tearing off limb by limb.
'Kill him, what are you waiting for.' Wolfgang snarled in my head.
'I thought you'd never asked.'
I growled and tried to charge at him but Sam wrapped his arms around my shoulders, pinning me back.
"Let me go! I don't want him touching her," I snarled and began to through fists in the air at the other male.
"You can't! They're both humans!" He yelped out and I instantly stopped struggling.
A human for a mate? How pathetic would that make me look like? They're weak and powerless, how could I have a human as a mate? Either way, I never wanted to have one. I liked being free and f*****g any girl I liked. But damn did my mate messed me up.
I couldn't do anything but watch as the other guy led her out of the store by the waist.
'He needs to get those filthy hands off her.'
'Agreed, but I'll never accept a human for a mate.'
'You're truly an idiot.' Was his last words before disappearing deep within my head.
"We're leaving," I snapped at Sam, to which he flinched and nodded.

"How are you going to get our Luna?" Sam quizzed me in the car.
"If the pack wants their Luna badly then so be it," I replied, "But I'll never love a human and besides I have Eve already."
"You mean the pack w***e?" He responded flatly.
"She's my mistress and future Luna," I glare at him, "I'll only keep the human around for the sake of the pack."
"You know you'll hurt her right?"
"And?"
"When you hurt your mate you're hurting yourself. Plus, you won't be able to resist temptation. You'll be lured in by the mate bond and it's inevitable."
"That's why we have the town witch because I already know rejecting your mate is not enough."
"Rejection is enough it's just that you don't want to feel the pain and emptiness later." Sam was quick to point that out but it was the truth.
"Maybe the witch can choose Eve as my mate."
"That's impossible, mates are destined for you. You can't just pick one." Sam started to raise his voice with me and my Alpha ego wasn't liking it.
"Then I'll prove you wrong."
"What if she leaves with another. If she can't take the pain then she'll seek refuge with another. Like her boyfriend."
"He is not her boyfriend," I growled and my grip tightened on the steering wheel.
"He clearly is or will you keep pretending he didn't call her 'baby' and was holding her by the waist."
"I WON'T LET ANYONE TAKE HER AWAY FROM ME." I erupted and the car screeched to a halt.
"I thought you didn't care about her," Sam replied flatly.
I was getting frustrated with this interrogation and declared, "Enough! I'll get the human but I'll keep Eve and that's that."
"Good luck with that," he mumbled.
"Hmm? what was that Sam?"
Sam glared at me and I glared back until my phone rang.
"Yes, what is it?" I said, my voice sounded annoyed due to the conversation earlier.
'Sir there are rogues in the area!"
"Where?How?When did this happen?" My mind drifted to her. I was consumed with fear, what if something happened to her.
"T-they've first been spotted around an apartment complex. We fear that they're still there.'
"What is the complex called?!" I replied urgently, hoping she wasn't near the area.
'Silver Bay'
I hung up quickly and told Sam, "Rogues. They're in the area at an apartment complex."
That's all it took for us to get out of the car and morph. My wolf was as black as midnight with a white streak on my back. Sam's was gold.
We abandoned the car because I made sure that some would pick it up later but that was the least of my worries. What if she was there? Was she in danger? Is she hurt? Fear began to consume every inch of my body. Although I was certain that I wouldn't fall victim to the mate bond...I already was. I was falling terribly.
