I woke up with my arms wrapped around my mate's petite frame. I was still in wolf form so her body was extremely small compared to mine. I try to put distance between us but I can't help but always want to be with her. Even if I could be with her I just couldn't. She is a human; weak. I don't mean to sound harsh but it's the truth. If I truly accepted her as my Luna then she would fall victim to so many dangers. I have so many enemies that would love to hurt me, and they know that the only way to hurt an Alpha is through their mate.
So I'll keep my distance. To protect her. If she ends up hating me then so be it, but I'm not about to watch what I hold dear be killed or hurt. I have to keep my promise. I came to this conclusion last night. I could never really hate her, in fact
