Annabelle's POV
I was promised a huge sum of money for this deal. The building before me was one of the many companies owned by the Sinclair. They were one of the top three families of Skyline city. They literally ran the city with their power, wealth and authority, with connections with the governor.
But one thing that stood out among these families was that they were not human. They knew how to easily blend in. Make themselves act and look like humans, but they could not with everyone. Many people do not believe in them. It was just a myth and heck, did I once think like that.
I always thought it was written in books to create excitement and nothing real, but then they made themselves known by hurting my brother. Now, they would face my wrath with no mercy. And the next person on my list was none other than the eldest son and the CEO of the Sinclair Consortium, Alexandro Martin Sinclair.
He was a man who was feared and respected in the entire Skyline city. Most girls fawn over him because of his looks. He was everything and more any lady would want. From his height to his gaze to his muscular build, all screamed luxury, and a human god, but he wasn't.
He was a goddamn vampire with his enemies flocking around him to find the right time to strike, and that is where I come in. Hired to bring to his end. From what I've been told, he was not an easy target. And truth be told. He was not.
This would be my third attempt to bring to his end, and I could only hope it works. I took out a handkerchief from my jacket's pockets and covered my face with it, leaving my eyes. I didn't usually use a mask or cover my face when I worked, but he was different.
My last attempt almost made him see me, and I did not want that to happen again. The man of the hour stepped out of the large building and soon was surrounded by cameras and news channels, trying to get information from him. As expected, he answered calmly.
One would have thought since it was late they would not be able to interview him, but here it was. Skyline news company was always ready for action. I checked out the bullets in the gun and a sigh escaped my lips. There were just two bullets in here.
I should have expected the bald man to be this crazy, to have only two bullets as his saving grace if there was an attack. I slammed the magazine back into the gun and crouched down to have a better angle. One disadvantage of using guns that are borrowed for a little moment was that it's hard to have a good angle on my target.
I locked on him. His attention fully on the cameras and his bodyguards kept darting their eyes around. But I was right here.
I shot the gun, and I sat on the roof, relaxing my back on the railing to avoid anyone spotting me. The commotion quickly began. Everyone knew what it meant. A gun shot at such a time meant someone was going down. I peeked out of my hiding space, but the man of the hour was not there.
The guards were the only ones in that spot, with the news channel and Alexandro not there. It only meant I missed once again. I clenched my teeth in anger. I had only one shot at this, and I messed up once again. I really needed it to work this time. Why was he always getting off my sight?
This was not good, and I hated it. Third time and still, he was not dead. I didn't have time to wallow, as the police would soon be here. Spinning around, my heart skipped a beat at the sight of Alexandro.
