CHAPTER 23— LEFT ME TO DIE.
EDITH’S POV
When I woke up, the room was dark. I glanced out of the window and also noticed that the sky was dark. The last thing I remembered was my body burning inside out, sweat coating my body, my mouth too heavy to speak, and Ballister's presence in the room. I remembered Carter trying to get Ballister to grant the permission for me to get treated but he had refused. Before then, I felt my body heating up and Carter had noticed immediately. At first, he tried to put me into the bathtub so my body could cool down but it had only become worse and Carter had suggested that bringing me to his room would be better.
