Chapter 1
EDITH'S POV
"How dare you look me in the eyes when I talk to you. Look at my feet you piece of trash!" Gwen, Alpha Jackson’s daughter spat.
The fury and rage in her eyes were enough to send chills Into any wolf but not me. Definitely not me. The anger and pain inside me was enough to repel any form of fear.
I had seen it all. I overheard them. It all happened before my very eyes. The coup they plotted against my father, Alpha Rohan.
Gwen and I are cousins. Her father, Jackson, is the only brother to my father. They had been close. We had been close to the point that we were called sisters but their attitude suddenly changed. There had been no fight, no arguments, no nothing but they began to distance themselves from us.
My father was the Alpha Leader of the Northern Wolfdom then, hence making the Blood Moon Pack the biggest pack in the North. He didn't seem to notice the change in attitude of his brother. I don't know if it was due to the ongoing war with the vampires then. I confronted him many times and told him about it but he just brushed it off saying they had gotten into an argument but I knew it was a lie.
I decided to keep an eye on them and find out what was wrong. To my dismay, I found out Gwen's father was in fact working with the vampires. I overheard him asking them to make it look like it happened in the war. Before I could rush back to inform my father about it, it was too late. They had struck and killed both my father and mother, including my brother.
They would have killed me too but because I was nineteen and I had still not wolfed out, they saw me as weak. "She's not a threat." Gwen had said.
But sparing me was their undoing. I was going to make them pay. No matter how long it was going to take, no matter what I had to do, I will make sure they pay for destroying my family.
As I thought about it, my whole body shook in anger but a sharp pain on my back brought me out of my reverie. "EYES ON THE GROUND! NOW!" I heard Gwen yell.
Since my father's demise, Gwen's father took over as the Alpha Leader of the Northern Wolfdom and I had been forcefully brought to the pack, reduced to the lowest-ranking slave, subject to the torment and cruelty of those around me. Among them all, Gwen took particular pleasure in asserting her dominance and making my life a living hell.
I was certain the hatred I felt for Gwen was evident in my eyes and I confirmed it as She lashed out, whipping me harshly. "You damn fool. Do you think you're still the Alpha’s daughter? In case you're forgetting, let me remind you. You're nothing but a disgusting and dirty servant!" Gwen sneered, her voice dripping with contempt.
The hatred in my eyes deepened and I lost control of my emotions. I lunged at Gwen but was met with another whip, harder than the first.
This time, I recoiled into a fetal position, my body trying to recover from the searing pain.
"You dare to attack me? A mere peasant? A slave? You dare to...
She raised her hand to whip me again but it hung midair. "Stop it!" A low yet powerful voice said.
Gwen turned around slowly to find Alpha Ballister behind her. His expression is still as unreadable as ever.
Alpha Ballister.
He is the most feared Alpha in the whole of the wolfdom both North and South, he is the Alpha King.
He was fierce and heartless and yes, he was gorgeous too and every lady including Gwen wanted him.
"Alp.. Alpha Ballister?" She stuttered trying to gain her composure back. "I see you're here. Umm... She's only a servant I'm trying to teach some manners to…”
"I said let her go and LEAVE!" This time he used his Alpha's authority and Gwen was left with no choice but to concede.
"Yes, Alpha." She said and left slowly.
I am not sure what it was but the moment I locked eyes with Alpha Ballister, I felt a warmth wash over me. Just before I could recognize anything, I looked away.
What was that? Did I...
"Come with me!" he commanded.

GWEN'S POV
I stormed into my room, raging with anger. I couldn't bear the sight of Edith any longer. Slamming the door shut, I let out a frustrated scream.
"Ugh! That b***h! How dare she!" I muttered to myself. I needed to let off some steam. Grabbing a nearby pillow, I threw it across the room with all my might. It didn't help.
I grabbed a lamp off my nightstand and threw it against the wall, but it didn't even put a dent in my fury.
"This is pointless! Nothing is helping!" I exclaimed, my voice filled with fury.
"That conniving little skank named Edith. She's stealing his attention, his affection! I can't stand it!"
The only thing that would calm me down was getting rid of Edith. That girl with her serving ways and her sly looks, was driving me insane.
As I thought of her, my anger ignited even more. I couldn't bear the way Alpha Ballister had looked at her. Like she was some precious little flower. Well, she ain't nothing special. I'm the one he should be looking at like that. Me, Gwen.
I couldn't let Edith keep torturing me with her presence. I had to think of a plan, and quick. Maybe I could talk to Papa, get him to send her away, or even execute her Or maybe I could do it myself. Take matters into my own hands. Yeah, that's what I needed to do.
I paced around my room, thinking of all the ways I could expose her for what she really was. A scheming interloper, trying to steal my man right out from under me. I pictured her face, smug and full of deceit, and it fueled my anger even more.
Just then, a flash of memory hit me like a slap in the face. I remembered catching a glimpse of Alpha Ballister looking at Edith, a softness in his eyes that he never showed me or anyone else in particular. It made my blood boil with jealousy. How dare he look at her like that?
"He looked at her with interest, with desire. No! That should be me, not that lowly servant!" I growled. Edith had to go, and I was willing to do whatever it took to make it happen.
Standing still for a moment, I took a deep breath, trying to collect her thoughts. I needed to devise a plan, a way to eliminate Edith discreetly. My mind raced, analyzing all the possible options.
"If I can make Edith look bad, and ruin her reputation, then Alpha Ballister will see her for who she really is.
Reaching for my phone, I dialed a number. "Hello, it's Gwen. I need you to do something for me."
As the conversation continued, my anger transformed into a cold, calculated focus. I knew that it would take time and effort, but I was willing to do whatever it took to rid myself of Edith.
"This isn't over, Edith. You'll see, soon enough," I whispered, my voice dripping with a mix of anger and determination.
I picked up a picture frame from my dresser and flung it across the room, shattered glass flying everywhere. As the shards tinkled to the floor, my anger surged through me like a raging river. I needed to take action, and I needed to do it now.
