BALLITER'S POV
After Carter had taken Edith out of the meeting room, I had dismissed everyone and kept myself locked up in the study room until a maid had interrupted me several hours later informing me that it was time for dinner. I dismissed her, informing her that I would join them shortly. As I stepped out of the study room, into the hallway, my eyes trailed over to the direction of Edith's room. She was unconscious when Carter had carried her out. The whip that I'd lashed her with contains a tiny bit of silver. Silver was coated into our whip in order to cause more pain to whoever was at the receiving end of the whip. I knew that and yet I'd whipped her. I shook my head, clearing away the little guilt that was creeping slowly inside my head. She deserved that,
