CHAPTER 30— Heat.
BALLISTER’S POV
I couldn’t tell how long I held Edith as she thrashed around me while I murmured soothing words to her. I didn't know that I had it in me but watching her cry out in pain, calling out to someone who I presumed must be someone special to her made my heart ache. I threw all precaution into the wind as I went to her. She breathed steadily, her chest rising in a peaceful manner as she slept, her head to my chest and something enveloped me, something warm. At that moment, I allowed myself to think of the what ifs. What if I decide to give this a trial? She shuddered and I bent my head, she looked so perfect as she slept, so small in my hand… so small and perfect that she fitted right into my arm.
