School the next day was... mind-blowing. I didn’t even know this many people knew me... or my father. “Dawn, I am so sorry,” Rachel says, my first grade best-friend that decided I wasn’t good enough anymore. Then Brian. “Dawn, I’m sorry for your loss.” A preacher’s kid. Tom, superior over us all. “Dawn, I’m sorry.” Everyone said the same thing, sorry. What are they sorry for? They didn’t kill him, and they didn’t have him abuse me or diminish my self-confidence. No, they didn’t do any of that, so why are they sorry?
