Wanted By My Fiance's Brother

CHAPTER 2

“ No, there is no way you are telling me the truth. You are lying,” Natalie shouted, catching everyone's attention. It didn't take long before the librarian came and threw them out.

“ I told you that we should have talked about this outside,” Hilder said once they were out of the library.

Natalie's heart rate had increased, tears were balancing in her eyes. She really didn't know what to do in this situation. This is the first time that it ever crossed her mind that Elijah was capable of cheating on her. She had not seen it coming. Honestly, she never even imagined that Elijah would attempt to do such a thing knowing what she had been through with Tony.

“ Hilder, you are my friend. I know that I should believe you but I can't. I trust Elijah. I know him too well. There is no way possible that he is capable of cheating on me especially with my best friend Sasha. That's not all, I know Sasha too, she always has my back. She is like a sister that I never had. There is no way that she would do this to me,” Natalie said, taking deep breaths to calm herself down.

“ I really wish that I was lying but I am not. I know what I saw and it shocks me too. I didn't see it coming. But Nate, the truth is here, right in front of us. Let's go and confirm. You deserve to know the truth. .Knowing what you went through with Tony, I don't want to see you hurt. I don't want a man to take advantage of you my dear,” Hilder said and Natalie blinked severally, allowing tears to fall down her cheeks.

For some reason, she felt that she knew the truth. She knew that maybe she had been living in this bubble thinking that Elijah was not capable of cheating yet he was.

He is just human and one thing we know for sure is that we make mistakes.

Natalie dreaded the walk from the library to the hostel but there was no way around it. She had to take the walk despite the immense fear that she felt at the bottom of her belly.Her knees were getting weaker with every step but she forced herself to pull through. Honestly, it's now or never. She needs to find out the truth.

As they got closer to the room, Natalie could feel her palms sweating. Hilder was so tense too but she was the one leading the way. They didn't have to open the door. The window was wide open for them to peep through and see what was going on.

Hilder was the first to peep through and after confirming that she was right, she gave Natalie a nod and it was her turn to look and see what was happening, if Hilder was telling her the truth or not.

Watching with bitter bile burning at the back of her throat, Natalie confirmed her biggest fear. Hilder was right. There she was standing by the window, watching the guy who proposed to her three days ago cheating on her with her best friend whom she loved deeply.

For a minute or so, Natalie was lost for words. The next minute, she wanted to break through the glass and hurt them both but she didn't have that courage. What she had just seen and the level of pain it caused her ate her alive, it was like a hungry wolf tearing through her heart.

Tears started falling down her cheeks uncontrollably like water from a faulty tap. Seeing the effect that it had on her, Hilder tried to pull her from the window and comfort her but Natalie was not having it. She watched in horror as the people she loved the most in the world stabbed her heart over and over again without mercy.

That night, something in her completely changed. She didn't see the world the same way after that.

Since she was not a confrontational person, Natalie decided to leave. She had been shut down so many times when she was with Tony that she couldn't just face them and tell them exactly how she wanted to reap their hearts out of their chest because of how they made her feel.

They had ruined her life, she could already feel it. She saw this darkness engulf her, a darkness that was never going to see the light anytime soon.

Slowly, Natalie started walking away.The way Sasha moaned and Elijah grunted rang in her mind that she couldn't hear Hilder calling her to come back. She had heard it all. Hilder had done her part, exposing the people she really cared about for who they really are and it was now her time to make her own decision. It was her time to decide how she was going to handle the situation, knowing what she knows now.

Natalie did not know where she was heading to but she knew for a fact that she didn't want to be there.She did not want to be around the same people who hurt her the most.

She was better far away. She didn't know if she was ever going to face them let alone fight for herself. She knew that she wanted them to pay for what they had done but how?

Despite the snorting, the crying, the hopelessness in her eyes and the emptiness in her heart, Natalie kept walking.

She didn't stop until she arrived at Mr and Mrs Daniels house. Those were Elijah's parents who welcomed her with open arms when their son introduced her to them as his fiance.

They know him better than she knew him. She felt that maybe if she talked to them about what happened…Maybe…Just maybe…At this point, she didn't know what to think, not anymore.

After arriving at the doorstep, Natalie took a deep breath. She took a few seconds to dry her tears, apply gloss on her lips.

She didn't want it to look too obvious that she had been cheated on. It's such a shame that despite her kind heart, her warm aura and her beautiful self, Elijah decided to cheat on her with her best friend Sasha.How does one recover from this? How will she be able to do it? Or will this crush her completely?

Ringing the doorbell, Natalie took a step back and waited for Mrs Daniels to get the door.

However, contrary to her expectations, a handsome tall guy with striking features shows up. He resembled Elijah but to be honest, he was a better version of Elijah. She couldn't resist looking at his broad shoulders and perfectly sculpted chest. His hair was well trimmed, beard well groomed and his cologne, she couldn't resist the feeling she got taking it all in. Instantly, she had this naughty thought that made her heart skip a mighty beat.

There is no way that she is falling for this guy, no, not when she had just been cheated on. What's wrong with her tonight? She thought to herself. It's like she never learns. She had just been cheated on, why the heck is she allowing herself to fall for Elijah's brother? This is way too complicated.

“ I am Jeremy, are you Solange from the dating app? I can't wait to get this night started. This is my perfect welcome gift, holding you and making love to you all night. “ Jeremy said with a smirk playing on her lips. immediately she could tell that he was a playboy. But, was she willing to walk away and pretend that nothing happened, of course not. Once again, she never learns.

Natalie couldn't help but think, she could be Solange, for the night. Her night has been ruined, her life has been crushed in front of her. It can't really hurt anyone if she decides for once, to put herself first. Tonight, she will put herself first.

“ Yea, I am Solange. I am ready for tonight, babe,” Natalie said, smiling genuinely for the first time that night.
