Chapter 7

901 Words
Adelaide's POV "Damien," I came here today because something is bothering me. It seems that my actions have been watched by someone, and I hope it's not by him. I clearly told him last night that I didn't want any security. "Adelaide," he called me sweetly, "What brings you here?" "I just dropped by," I lied, because this is out of the way. "I want to ask you about something," I said and looked into his eyes, "Did you put me in security?" His eyes drooped and I knew from that moment. "No," he answered nonchalantly, and I can see that he is not having a good day today. Nonetheless, he still invaded my private space! I put my phone on the table with a picture of him. "This is Trevor, one of your men," I said, "I saw him multiple times today. You know that no matter how much you've tried... no they hide from me, I will know. Why did you still do it?" I asked him and don't understand why the hell he is so protective about. I know that he is elite and all... this is why I need to distance myself from him. "I just did that for your sake," he said and looked at my eyes, "That damn Ezekiel will be targeting you. I am just concerned about you," "Concerned for me? You invaded my privacy!" I said and gritted my teeth, "Damien you know..." I closed my eyes. Even though we had been together for two years, nothing seems to make it right. We are not a real couple. It's just I want to help him to give back for all his help to me. Especially when I'm at my worst. "Let's end this agreement," I told him, which made him look at me. "No---" I stopped him. "I think that this is not helping anymore. I'm sure grandma would understand," I looked at him, "Plus she is demanding for a son. I can't let my son, Joaquin, get involved in this," "No," he firmly said and held my hand, "I can't..." he said like he was about to cry. "No, no," I said and looked at him seriously, "This is just a contract. I would like to stop that now," I said and massaged my head. "We are even past due to it... this is just... it was just an extension," I couldn't find the right words, "Plus, I knew this isn't helping. I'm just becoming a burden to you," "Is that it?" he asked me and looked with cold eyes, "My answer will remain no." he firmly said and I felt something had twitched inside me. What is this feeling? "What are you doing...?" I asked him when I suddenly felt my knees weakening and my consciousness fading away. "Damien..." the thing that I remember before falling asleep. It was dark. I can't feel my body. It feels like I have no control over it. All I can see is the little light coming from the door. Was it just my imagination? "Agh..." I said when I finally was able to feel my arms and what I touched was the soft comforter around me. I couldn't move my body but my eyes could, and I saw those gold colored pale brown and white in the room. There are also vases that cost millions for sure. This is such a luxurious room. "Argh..." I groaned and when someone entered the room, I pretended to be asleep. The footsteps are so careful like they are really careful but someone drops the glass. "Anna, you're such an i***t!" someone shushed her and wanted to scold for being so careless when the master had clearly told them to be careful not to wake her up. I can feel their gazes in me so I pretended more to be asleep. "It seems that did not wake her up," they sighed, "The master will be furious if she woke up without him by her side," and wanted to scold her but the poor woman looked down instead. "I'm sorry," she said and I can feel her trembling, "This won't happen again." "Make sure of that, if you don't want to get tortured undergorund," she said that sent shiver down my spine. Torture? I'm sure Damien will not do that. Where the hell am I anyway?" "Y-yes," she answered as if she is about to die, "I don't want that to happen to me," she cried out. What horrible fear I can sense! I can feel their gazes at me. "Doesn't she look so much like Madam Keira?" they asked each other, "It's just she had a black hair. Oh my goodness," Keira? Who is she? That's when I realized that there is so much I don't know about him. I was so busy raising my son that I tend to forget things like that. "What is going to happen to her now? Is she going to be the next Madame?" I did not understand what they meant by that and just knew what they were thinking. If they are referring to Damien, this is his house. And where grandma resides. I feel like I'm in danger. I need her help. She needs to know everything. While thinking deeply like that, I did not notice the time and fell asleep. I remember the first time me and Damien met...
