Chapter 6 Is He Divorced

1245 Words
The small Polo car, like arrows, left the string on the road. With her tired eyes gradually drooping, Elisa gazed at the rapidly disappearing street scene in front of her. Her reason warned her not to sleep in front of strangers, but her spirit and body were exhausted. Brandon's appearance drained her that day. William observed the small woman and her powerful spirit in the corner. It was not until Elisa fell asleep that he parked the car on the side of the road. He was looking at her through the brilliant street lights and the dim interior lights of the car. Elisa was undeniably a lovely lady. She had porcelain skin and beautiful facial features. There was always the light of certainty and confidence in her, which made it difficult for people to look away. Despite the fact that such a lady attracted men, few of them were willing to pursue her for fear of being compared to her. After all, few men appreciate a girlfriend or wife whose aura was steadily becoming more and more serene than their own. William never imagined meeting Elisa in that way. Five years ago, his eldest brother drove his pregnant sister-in-law to the hospital and was involved in a car accident. A vital shift of the driving wheel saved his sister-in-law, but his eldest brother died instantly. If Elisa hadn't happened to pass by and got into the car that was crushed and deformed to deliver his sister-in-law, there would have been no Bruce Brich. Bruce was taken to the nearest rescue station by the small woman, who then disappeared. Throughout those five years, they never ceased seeking her in private, but they were never successful in their search. If it hadn't been for the driving recorder, which captured all of the photos of Elisa delivering her sister-in-law, he would not have known who she was. He was not going to let go of her ** William took the car downstairs to Elisa's house, but Elisa had not woken up yet. William half supported her chin and continued to enjoy the little woman's sleeping face in his spare time. There was a big gap between the way she slept and the way she woke up. When she was awake, she was rational and professional, with the unique calmness and certainty of doctors. After falling asleep, she was charming and childish. Those two polar opposite temperaments actually coexist in the same individual without any misbehavior. He was not sure how long after that, Elisa was awakened by a knock on the door. When Elisa opened her eyes, she saw her mother's face beside the driver's window, and the sleeping beauty was terrified. "Mom, why are you there?" "Did I disturb your date with this man?" Emily fixed her gaze on William. William exited the car when Elisa said, "Mom." "Hi Aunt." Mrs. White was taken aback by William's presence, and her eyes were fixed on him with unwavering determination. "My little Elisa didn't cause you any headaches, did she?" "It's entirely up to me to decide." Mrs. Emily White said with a grin. William didn't have the typical coldness about him. Instead, he nodded and smiled, giving off a soft and polite demeanor. He noticed a car parked not far away, with a middle-aged guy standing next to the vehicle. It was most likely Elisa's father. The man was unloading items from his car onto the ground. "Is it possible for me to assist?" William inquired. "There is no need." "Better." Elisa and Emily said the same thing at the same time. William stepped around Mrs. White and went to Mr. White. With a smile on his face, he said, "Uncle, I'll be here to assist you." "Please, please, please." Elisa's father chuckled and stepped back from the car. Consequently, Elisa looked at William and his father, who were taking the luggage upstairs, and made a grimace of foolish determination. She could not spit it out because it was caught in her throat. Following William's departure for the second floor, her father squeezed her arm. "I've only been gone for about half a year, and you have already fallen in love, and you're so courageous that you didn't even tell your mother about your new relationship!" "I'm too weary to talk to you, mum," Elisa said. "Can you tell me what's wrong with your attitude?" Emily is quite dissatisfied with the situation. "I'm just exhausted from work and don't have the energy to tell you right now." Elisa White turned around and shut the door of her car. Taking Emily White's arm in her own, she cuddled up to Elisa White's shoulder and slept well. Elisa stands at 1.69 meters tall, which was considered to be a rather tall height for a female. Mrs. Emily was also a small woman, standing at less than 1.55 meters in height. Consequently, she looked quite tiny and beautiful when snuggled up close to Elisa White. Without sleep and regaining her composure, Elisa White would have been devastated by her controlling mother. "I told him that he was a nice young guy. If you don't have anything else to do, think about him." Mrs. White shared her thoughts. "Can you tell me who he is?" Elisa was the one who inquired. "Who?" Emily was perplexed. "William Brich," Elisa said. "Can it be that William Brich is the Chairman and President of Brich's Group?" The mother was taken aback. "Hmm." Her mother's features were flushed with excitement. After she finished with her sentence, Elisa White remained silent, wanting to let her mother go. Who knew what would happen? "A man like him is deserving of my lovely daughter." Emily shared her thoughts. "Is there a hole in your head, Mom?" She asked. "I didn't say anything to you, Elisa. As a young lady, you are obnoxious. Are you feeling self-conscious?" "Don't try to push it." "Was it because I compelled you? My daughter is so flawless that it is only fitting that she should be accompanied by a man of such distinction as Mr. William Brich." Elisa White's gaze was silent as she moved her gaze away. "Mom, did you just read the first half of the gossip?" "Can you explain what you mean?" Her mother asked. "Didn't you know William had a child?" "Huh?" Her mother appeared to have been struck by lightning at some point. "Elisa White, say it again. Elisa, repeat yourself." "He has a child." Mrs. White swallowed her saliva, and her face contorted for a long time as she thought about what to say. "Is he divorced?" Elisa White was suddenly deafeningly silent. She made the decision not to converse with her mother whose head was filled with imagination. When Elisa White pulled her mother home, William and her father had already moved everything in the car. Mr. White handed William a cup of hot, boiling water from a kettle. "Thank you very much for all of your help tonight. The house is very cluttered, and the reception is not very pleasant." "Uncle, you're being overly nice." Seeing William for the first time, Mr. White was struck by how his speech and manners could not be nurtured by the average person in society. Without examining attentively, his outfit and leather shoes were worth a significant amount of money. William appeared to be completely unaware that Mr. White was staring at him, so he sipped his tea in silence.
