CHAPTER TWENTY Soon after Carrie uttered her dire threat, Stella saw the door swing open. The throb of music from outside swelled as another woman walked in. She was tall and slim, with huge, dark eyes and waist-length dark hair. “Hi. I’m Storm,” she said. Carrie had been telling the truth about no more nice guy, Stella noted. Clearly, her partner had lost patience entirely. “Storm? Is that your birth name? Show me your ID,” Carrie snapped. The woman’s eyes flew even wider open. “I – we don’t use our real names here.
