“We should get going” Violet dejectedly sighed. She was the one who was upset the most from her epic prank not working out. Her shoulders slumped as she motioned towards the parking lot. The students started filtering out already.
Anna twisted her lips, still confused about Tylor wearing a clean jersey. She was hoping to have a good laugh. Guess that could wait. Dusting off her dress, she followed Violet towards her car.
“I was so ready to post the picture online and hashtag it with a ridiculous caption. Would have made an excellent prize for both of us” Violet chuckled as they held on to their bags, walking through the exit doors.
Anna giggled, “That's so clever! The look on his face would have been the prize enough.”
“Maybe next time.”
“We should make sure it works out the next time, though.”
“Exactly!” Violet agreed.
They both shared a chuckle, inching towards the vehicle when Anna noticed something. For some reason, the seat looked an inch back, but maybe she imagined things. Violet pulled the keys out of her bag.
“Are we going back home?”
“Mmh we can get lunch on the way” Violet mumbled, unlocking the door when Anna heard the sound of something popping.
Violet jumped, tugging her far back. Annas' eyes widened when she noticed the balloons inside the car, and they started popping. Her lips parted in shock. Few students gathered around their car, giving them weird looks. Where did those ballons come from? Who would have put them there?
“What the f**k?!” Anna yelled, shaking her head. Violet had her hand gripped tightly, so Anna stayed up, staring at the mess that was her car. From the corner of her eyes, she noticed Tylor staring at them with a smirk playing on his lips. Michael was standing beside him with an all too innocent look on his face. As if he didn’t do anything. Did both of them do it? Or was it only Tylor?
“Hold my bag. I’ll be back” Anna mumbled to Violet, throwing her bag in her best friends direction.
“Anna” Violet called behind her back, but she didn’t stop.
She was going to kill him.

Anna stalked towards Tylor with an intent clear on her face. Their prank was harmless and meant to be funny. Why did he do that to her car?! How did he even pull it off?
“Hey Anna” Michael swiftly interrupted before she could open her mouth. She glared at him, her arms crossed against her chest. Her eyes followed Tylor’s movement, and she noticed his clenched jaw and the way he clenched his hand in a fist.
“Is there anything you want to tell me?” Anna questioned, noticing the sweat on Michael’s forehead. It will be easy to break him first. After all, she knew Tylor too well.
Michael spluttered, “Huh? Nothing”
Tylor rolled his eyes, mumbling something under his breath. She was sure that he was cursing her or atleast both of them. It was difficult to tell.
“Oh, really? Let’s see what-“
Tylor cleared his throat rudely, cutting her off in the middle, “Why don’t you talk to me directly? I can answer your questions.”
She hated how his voice sent shivers down her spine, even after all this time. Anna swallowed the lump in her throat before tilting her head up, meeting Tylor's eyes. He was sweaty as well, his jersey clinging his muscular torso and arms exposed. She felt her throat dry all of a sudden. Why was that affecting her?
Anna arched her, brow, “Why did you do it then?”
“How do you it’s us? It can be anyone” Tylor shrugged, an innocent smile playing on his lips. The glint in his eyes was enough for her to comfort that it's him. Besides, why would he be waiting with his teammate behind the tree? It made sense to her.
Anna gritted her teeth together. What was he trying to say? He was the only one who had her extra key because they were in love and Anna was stupid. She thought that it would be forever kind of love. How naive!
“I don’t go around handing keys to everyone, Tylor. That’s why” Anna faintly whispered, their eyes clashing together.
The break in her voice was enough to make Tylor widen his eyes as if he was not expecting for her to talk about their past. As if! She was not the one trying to pretend they never happened. Did he forget that?
Michael cleared his throat, “I am gonna go now...”
Tylor held his hand before he could make a run. Anna grit like a clear sign that Tylors didn’t want to be left alone with Anna. It stung. Then again, she should get used to the fact that he will always resent her and learn to live with that.
“Stay.”
Michael twisted his lips, “I’m sorry bro but Violet is waiting over there. Let me atleast make sure that she won’t be ditching me on our date because of your stupid prank.”
Tylor’s face scrunched at that. He blinked at Violet and Michael for a few seconds before it dawned on him. Anna tried not to roll her eyes at him. The realisation sunk on his face, and he immediately left Michael’s hand.
“Violet” Tylor breathed lowly, his eyes following Michael.
“Also my prank wasn’t stupid. You loved it and thought it was hilarious!”
When Anna glared at Michael, he squirmed under her gaze and shook his head, “After I told you it’s stupid. You have to believe me, Anna.”
She made a face; a bit amused at him trying to convince her he was the “good guy” in the situation. She bought it.
“I won’t be holding it against you.”
Michael breathed his hand on his left side of the chest. “Thank god! Now time to convince your friend.”
“I’ll go.”
Tylor licked his lips, “Yeah...I mean yeah do that. You can go.”
“Wasn’t asking for your permission but okay” Michael jogged towards Violet, leaving the both of them all alone, under the tree.
Anna quirked her lips at that. She already liked Michael. As soon as he was gone, she met Tylor’s eyes again. He was flushed, unable to hold her stare. Of course, he should be after the way he treated her on that party night. The kind of accusations he threw around deeply hurt her.
“What do you have to say about it?” She asked, clearly hinting at the car situation. Her arms felt clammy, and all she wanted was to lean forward, inhale more of his scent. Jesus! She needs help.
“Whatever” Tylor scoffed, turning around and walking back to the field

Violet was going on a date after Anna convinced her. The initial plan was to make Michael grovel a bit more for being involved with Tylor. However, Anna knew it was all Tylor, so she asked Violet to let it go. They can think of a better prank.
Like always Anna was the one stuck with helping her decide right outfit which translated to the guy “losing it” over her outfit.
Michael was a good guy, no doubt about it. He was also putting extra effort to impress Violet, which automatically earned him brownie points. According to Violet, they were going to some expensive restaurant.
“I still can’t believe that he walked away without apologising” Violet pouted, patting her cheeks in hopes of getting natural blush. It was amusing to watch. Anna didn’t stop her.
“Yeah well, he’s not going to apologise to me of all people!” Anna slumped back on the bed on the top of Violet's clothes. They were dirty enough to be in the laundry, but her best friend was lazy, just like her, which she didn’t mind at all.
Violet sighed, looking over her shoulder, “I mean I know that but guess I was expecting him to be more mature. We will have to think of something else by tomorrow.”
Anna frowned, raising her head, “Wait, what do you meant by something else?”
Violet stood up, admiring her reflection in the mirror. She was dolled up in black sleeves knee-length dress and a cute fur jacket on top and some grunge boots to go along with it. Anna helped her pick almost everything.
She twirled around, staring at Anna, “I mean we have to prank him again. He cannot gain a point over us.”
Anna sat up, leaning against the headboard. A frown sat on her lips at her best friends words.
“I think we should let it go. The last thing I want is to be hated even more by him.”
“Oh, come on!” Violet sighed, picking her bag from the bed. She was done.
Anna let out a heavy breath, her hands folded together, “We should leave him alone. It’s for the best.”
“Too bad then because I was already planning on the next one and it’s going to be epic!”
“You said the same thing last time” Anna clicked her tongue.
“This time it’s real.”
“I’ll think about it. Now go”
“Fine! I’m leaving.” Violet closed the door being her, leaving Anna all alone.
