Four years later
Ciara walked into a mansion looking elegant and indifferent. And the first she does is question her uncle.
“What did you do with my grandfather’s house?”
Although he had already received the news, Nathaniel wiped the cold sweat on his forehead in fear, his niece was really alive. And she just walked in.
“Ciara, is that you? Are you really alive?”
Ciara sneered, “I am still alive. Are you disappointed uncle?”
“When my grandfather died, he left the family business to you. But you weren’t satisfied with that, were you? You thought you could also take the house that he left for my mother.”
Five years ago, Ciara didn’t want anything to do with her uncle and his family. She stayed away from them, but that was until she saw on the internet that they were auctioning this house. A house that she stayed in for ten years.
“You were reported dead 5 years ago. This house has been empty. You wanted us to wait for your ghost? How do we even know that you are really Ciara?
A voice sounded behind Ciara and Nathaniel, it was Ciara’s aunt, Mary-Jane.
“This house was sent to the auction by your uncle. They will start shooting tonight. But if you have the ability you can do the shooting. The house was sold and paid for in full, we can’t go back on our agreement,” said Mary-Jane.
Ciara tried to suppress her anger, and she asked her aunt, “Is there really no way to recover it?”
Nathaniel shunned his niece’s eyes with guilt.
But Mary-Jane didn’t shy away like Nathaniel, she looked Ciara in the eyes and she asked her angrily, “If you can’t keep up, we are in big trouble. What else do you care about?”
“Carey company wouldn’t be in trouble if you didn’t try to kill Jason’s unborn child 5 years ago. Because of your cold heart, our company is about to close down and all you care about is this house. So are you willing to help us sell the house, we need the emergency money?”
“Trouble?” asked Ciara looking at Mary-Jane in disbelief, as if she just heard a joke. “If you hadn’t put Jason and me in the same bed while we were drunk and then forced us into marriage, the Careys would have gone bankrupt six years ago.”
Mary-Jane listened to Ciara, but she didn’t see anything wrong with their actions.” Do you think we hurt you? Ciara, if it weren’t for us, would you marry into a wealthy family? I doubt. Your own inability to keep your husband’s heart, which is what we depended on got us here.”
“Whether it is right or wrong, it is for the law to decide,” said Ciara looking at her watch as she prepared to leave. “Since we aren’t reaching an agreement, we’ll sort this out through legal proceedings.
“What did she just say? What is she planning to do?” asked Nathaniel, panicking.
Mary-Jane and Nathaniel looked panicked as they watched Ciara leave.
Mary-Jane sneered, “What is she going to bring that will help us? Let’s not even forget that Jason, her own husband wanted her dead.”
Inside her car, Ciara turned on her Bluetooth headset and made a phone call.
“Baby, Mommy has something to do tonight. Will you listen to Aunt Hannah?” said Ciara into the phone.
Soon there was a voice on the other end of the phone. “Don’t worry, Ciara, I will take good care of the children.”
“Mommy, Olivia is being rude. I am his sister, but he doesn't call me sister,” complained Oliver. And suddenly a little voice was heard crying, it was Ava.
Ciara let out a helpless sigh “Oliver, can you call Ava sister?”
“No, I am her big brother, not her little brother!” said Oliver wanting to take care of his sister.
“Woo-woo mummy doesn’t love me anymore. Mommy won’t let me be a sister. I want Olivia and Arnold,” said Ava. She humphed and continued, “Olivia is shooting advertisements. Arnold is at the hospital. When will they come home to Ava. Don’t they want Ava? Is Ava pitiful?” asked Ava.
“Ava, it will get dark soon and mummy is driving,” said Ciara smiling faintly.
After hearing her mom say this, Ava immediately stopped crying. “Mummy, Ava has stopped crying. Ava doesn’t like it when mummy is driving at night. Ava wants to protect mummy.”
Hearing her daughter’s words, Ciara felt a little sick and tears stung her eyes.
What happened 4 years ago still haunted her. Falling into the sea in a car had made Ciara claustrophobia and she couldn’t drive at night. That night four years ago completely changed her life. The only good thing that came out of that marriage was her children, Oliver, Olivia, Ava and Arnold. That day when her ruthless husband, Jason wanted her dead, she was desperate to live. And her unborn kids were the ones that kept going. If it wasn’t for them she wouldn’t survive. They were the reason she managed to break open the window and escape from the car. Fortunately, in the end, she was saved by a kind-hearted person, and even gave birth to four babies. Except Arnold, Oliver, Olivia and Ava were all very healthy. Thinking of her sickly little son, Ciara’s eyes stung, and the hand holding the steering wheel gradually tightened.
Jason and April, I’m back. She thought to herself.

In a luxurious Maybach, a handsome man with a deep voice is on the phone.
“Has the new game engineer arrived today?” He asked into the phone.
The secretary on the other end of the phone couldn’t help but pinch a cold sweat: “She hasn’t arrived yet. Jane is proud of her talents and always has a little temper.”
“Temper? Asked the man in annoyance, “Who is Party A, doesn’t she know?” He doesn’t wait for the answer, “Tell Jane I’ll see her tomorrow, or else she’s fired.” He doesn’t even wait for the secretary to say anything, he hung up the phone in anger.
Sam the chauffeur for today had a strange feeling and couldn’t help but comment, “Jason, is this Jane dissatisfied with the treatment proposed by our consortium? Is she deliberately leaving us hanging so that we would work according to her conditions?
“Who knows what is going on in her mind? If she is not a high-level game engineer and her design concept is ahead of schedule, I will fire her right away.”
“How long before we get there?”
Facing the big BOSS who suppressed his anger, Sam even breathed and answered carefully: “Five minutes.”
“But why did you put your wife’s house on an auction after buying it?” Asked Sam. “And now you have to be there for the auction. Isn’t that a lot of work?”
Jason frowned at Sam’s words, “What wife?” “You’re talking about a dead person,” added Jason, sounding unhappy. He hated talking about Ciara.
Sam didn’t know what to say to that. He felt like he had talked about a forbidden topic. He nervously held the steering wheel and did not dare to say another word. As soon as he parked in the parking garage of the auction, he felt relieved.
Jason was hit by something in the thigh as he was leaving the parking garage. He looked down to see what hit him. He saw a little girl stumbling back as if drunk before she fell hard on the ground. She let out an ugly cry.
Both Jason and San didn’t know what to say. They just looked at her.
Hiding in the dark, was a little boy who couldn’t bear to look directly at the little girl’s poor acting skills.
Someone had touched one of the porcelain, it fell on the ground and made a sound. But nothing much was said because it was a little girl’s fault.
Sam couldn’t bear to see such a lovely little girl cry. But, Jason wasn’t so kind. He was ready to leave without looking at the little girl. “She’s not my daughter. She will go find her parents when she’s done crying.”
As Jason turned to leave the little girl hugged his thigh tightly, and she begged, “Dad, please, Dad, don’t go.”
