“ did u get caught? Did she thrashed you?” Questioned Bella curiously.
Waving her hand, Sara replied proudly.
” Nah….your sweet grandfather saved me from your crazy grandma”.
Now it was Bella’s turn to laugh.
Hearing the laughing sound from the kitchen, both Oliver and Isaac who had just returned home, came rushing through the kitchen door.
Looking at both the mess and the ladies of the family, they managed to grasp what had had happened earlier.
Then the whole family cracked into laughter.
Thinking about the fine memory of their past, Bella smiled sadly. She missed her mom very much. She missed her happy family even much more.
The family which lost their laughter years ago. Shaking her head sadly, she began to concentrate on the work on hand.
Atlast came her favorite part. The cake making. She was a pro master in baking cakes.
She carefully cracked open the eggs. Then separated the yolks apart. Then in small amount she added the ingredients needed for the cake mixture in a large glass bowl.
When everything was added in correct proportion, she began to whip the mixture evenly without any lumps in them.
As the mixture was finished, she carefully transferred them onto the cake molds and placed the first batch into the microwave oven.
When the first batch was
baking, she moved onto making the creams for decorating the cakes.
By the time she finished making the creams, the timer went off indicating that the first batch was ready.
When Bella took the cakes out of the oven, the whole kitchen smelled a heavenly smell of vanilla.
She took the first set of baked cakes out of the microwave oven and kept them on the kitchen counter for cooling.
Then refilled the second batch inside the microwave oven. Then she repeated the same process further two times.
While the last set of cakes have been baking in the microwave oven, she focused on decorating the cooled down cakes side by side.
When she finished all the decorations of the cakes, she carefully packed each one of them separately and kept them aside.
After completing all the works tediously, she cleaned the kitchen.
As if on cue, when she was wiping the last part of the kitchen counter, the horn of delivery truck was heard outside.
Wiping her hands on her apron, she went out to see Frank getting down from the front seat of the truck.
When he saw her, he gave a bright smile and walked towards her.
“ Is Everything is ready angel?”.
Returning Frank’s gesture with the smile of her own, Bella replied “yes uncle Frank. Everything is ready. Get inside. Let’s load all the items”.
“You don’t need to carry those boxes angel. You would be already tired for working for the last few hours. Take rest.. I’ll handle the moving and loading.”
“No uncle Frank. I’m not tired. I’m still energetic. Let me help you in moving and loading those boxes and containers” Bella replied and to prove her point, she twirled a little like a kindergarden kid.
“I don’t know where does all these energy is coming from that tiny little body of yours” teased Frank.
Seeing her behaving like happy kid that want to play in the amusement park for few more hours, Frank knows that arguing with her was in vain.
So he accepted her help. Soon every boxes and containers were placed in the back of the truck carefully.
“Bye angel…..Take care…see you”. Frank embraced Bella in a fatherly hug and turned to face the truck.
“Uncle Frank!!!!”yelled Bella loudly. Frank who was about to open the truck door stopped in mid-action and turned around to the source of the sweet voice.
Bella came running towards him, with a small box in her hand.
Seeing her like that, Frank was both touched and sad that she was not his own daughter.
Bella came and gave the small box to Frank and said in a whisper.
“your surprise..!! Share it with aunt Lily. Don’t eat it all by yourself”
Bella kept her hands on her hips and reminded him as if he was a kid.
Frank opened the small box revealing different kinds of cookies in them. Giving a small smile, Frank saluted to Bella playfully.
“yes mam. Order taken”. Giving a final wave, Frank took off.
Bella went inside and saw the time on the clock hanging above the hall couch. It was time for lunch.
Soon she finished making lunch and took it to her dad’s room. After feeding him, she had her own lunch and did all the dishes quickly.
When it was 2 in the noon, the door bell rang. Bella opened the door to reveal Ana and sweet little bobby, the toddler she babysat on the door way.
Ana gave little bobby and his bag with his toys and necessities to Bella and went out saying that she will be back in two hours to bring bobby back.
Bella placed bobby on the floor in the hall and took all his toys out and began to play with him.
Soon two hours went by quickly and Ana came to collect bobby and thanked Bella again before bidding goodbye to her.
As usual, she began to clean the house and made dinner. Finishing dinner, she did the dishes and retired to her room upstairs.
Reaching her room, she took out a simple cotton night dress to change and went inside the bathroom to take a quick bath.
Lying on the bed, Bella looked out of her window, which was opened, so that cool night wind can fill her room.
She looked at the moon which was high on the night sky and made a wish. It was her daily routine to pray for her family before she slept.
Her mom told that the wishes we wish with whole heartedly would come true.
She wished for her dad’s speedy recovery and her home's happiness.
She hoped that someday, everything would return to normal.
Holding onto the same hope, she closed her eyes and went into a dreamless slumber.
