Chapter 1
The sun was setting over the New York City skyline, casting a warm glow over the bustling streets. I had just finished my lecture and was making my way out of the college when I spotted my boyfriend, Eric, waiting for me with a beaming smile.
"Hey, love," I greeted him, feeling a surge of happiness.
"Hey, baby," Eric replied, holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He leaned in for a kiss, and as I pulled him closer, we shared a sweet, tender moment.
"How was your day, my love?" Eric asked, his eyes filled with concern.
"Stressful as usual," I sighed, feeling the weight of the day lifting off my shoulders in his presence.
"No worries, I've got a surprise for you. I've made a reservation for dinner and even prepared your outfit. Let's go and have a great time," Eric said, taking my hand and leading me towards his car.
As we drove through the city, I couldn't contain my excitement and gratitude for Eric's thoughtful gesture. The city lights blurred past us, and before I knew it, we had arrived at Carbone New York, an elegant and upscale Italian-American restaurant.
"Eric, why are we at this expensive restaurant?" I asked, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the lavish setting. "We can't afford it, Eric."
"Don't worry about it, love. I have taken care of it," he reassured me with a gentle smile.
He came around, opened the car door for me, and I couldn't help but feel a rush of warmth and gratitude towards him.
"Thank you," I said, smiling as I took his hand, feeling a mix of joy and anticipation for the evening ahead.
As we entered the restaurant, the ambiance was enchanting, with soft lighting and a lively yet sophisticated atmosphere. We were led to our table, and Eric ordered a cocktail while I indulged in selecting a delectable dessert from the menu.
ERIC POV
I decided to take Nina on a trip to Singapore for my best friend's wedding and to introduce her to my Chinese family, especially my beloved grandmother. I ordered a fancy cocktail, Nina indulged in a delicious dessert.
I proposed the idea of a vacation to the Far East, but Nina was hesitant, concerned about the expenses.
After some convincing, I managed to persuade her to join him for the wedding and to meet my family in Singapore. Eventually, Nina agreed and I embraced her and drew in for a tender kiss.
Little did they know that their private moment would soon be splashed across the internet, thanks to a journalist from a top broadcasting firm who captured and uploaded their photo without their consent.
