With her mind having been occupied with thoughts of Hunter throughout the entire day, Cait was believed to have something else to think of when she took the foremost middle position upon the bleachers. Wearing her boyfriend's number proudly upon a sweater that graced her shoulders, she was surprised to find the sound of a familiar and tantalizing voice to have taken her focus from Jack once again. That habitual fresh spring scent mixed with a strong and alluring musk followed Hunter in absolutely every direction her turned-forcing her to recognize him, well before he claimed the seat beside her.
"Hello Princess…" his condescending nickname spoke to her as she tries to ignore him. This seemed to work for a short period of time, before she found him to steal a handful of popcorn and bringing it to his lips before focusing on the two separate teams. But as his gaze focused upon the teams, hers focused on the path between the stolen popcorn to that of his plump lips. She swallowed hard upon imagining him setting his hand upon her cheek and pulling her in for a passionate kiss that would put all others to shame.
"I don't get how guys throwing a ball into a stick with a net merits for a Letterman jacket...but it won't matter in a few years."
"Oh yeah? And what will?" Although Cait felt as though she had called him out on his bullshit, she would quickly found out that she would wish she would have remained silent.
"Making mistakes...having s*x with all the wrong people…"
She blushed upon hearing these words, not wanting to react as she knew that was what he had wanted.
"High school s*x is...just the building blocks-"
"Do you talk about any thing other than s*x?" She finally asked, forcing her tone to raise higher than anticipated.
"They say talk about what you know."
"And they also say that those who think they know everything, usually don't." It seemed as though he took this as a challenge. A scoff left his lips before he leaned towards her, making it impossible for her to move.
"You have yet to have that good lay...the kind that makes your toes curl at the thought of having him inside of you again...you dampen at the sound of his voice, and crave for him to do anything to make you come...his fingers...his tongue-" the sudden sound of the game's beginning whistle broke them apart as he took one final handful of popcorn before giving her a mischievous smirk. "But you're right...I don't know anything." Following these words, he disappeared into the crowd as his spot was replaced by Diamond who was dying to know the details of what made Caitlyn speechless.
Due to Hunter's words, Cait couldn't bring herself on the fact her boyfriend threw the final point in the game. She was only forced back to reality upon being pulled into a victory kiss that left her feeling guilty. Guilty for being with her boyfriend and not the guy whom she wanted to have possession of that title. This showed in her drifting gazes, even when she was spoken to directly by Jack.
"We are going to Heeley's." Jack informed his girlfriend. "We are just gonna go over plays and stuff so you probably just want to stay back and hang with Di." The other players around him, looked to him with worry, wondering if Cait would catch onto this lie. However, it seemed as though it wouldn't matter, as her main focus was on a heart breaker wrapped in a leather jacket. Separating from a perfectly chaste kiss, Cait then turned to meet up with Diamond, while seeing Hunter flirting with girls a year younger than him. She couldn't help but feel jealous, but as she made her way from the field, was unaware that he had his attention focused upon her.
"You do realize that Jack is full of crap, don't you?" Diamond asked as they slid into her jeep while pulling out from the school's parking lot. The sound of Billie Eillish playing on low in the background acted as a soundtrack while they continued this conversation. "They are going to a party."
"Good for them…" Cait spoke, still deeply distracted by Hunter-even if she could no longer see him.
"At Cammy's."
Cammy Carmichael was a second time senior who was of the right appearance to attain liquor and drugs. Because of this and the fact she was incredibly loose, she was quite people-and had a thing for hitting on quarterbacks and those on varsity teams. She had managed to hook up with almost everyone in school-everyone aside from Jack. Cait grew nervous as she wasn't able to satisfy him, and therefore, he may look elsewhere. This had been enough of a reason for her to ditch any thought of the bad boy newcomer and focus on keeping her boyfriend while having to attend yet another party.
Standing in front of her mirror, Cait slid on her silk spaghetti strap crop top before then bringing her jean shorts together by a solid black belt. The only details left would be that of her shoes, makeup, and hair; all of which she chose while speaking to Diamond of the new student.
"Hunter Steele, transferred from Los Angeles, has one older brother and works on cars in his free time…" Diamond spoke while daydreaming of the not-so mysterious figure whom they had both come to know in the last few days. "He is this mix of James Dean and the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome. And those eyes...they are like puppy dog eyes that you just want to melt in and he also seems distracted by you…"
Cait scoffed. "And I have Jack-"
"Yeah good natured Jack who lies to his girlfriend and goes to chlamydia Cammy instead of being with his dutiful and chaste girlfriend-" Diamond paused. "Maybe that is why you can't sleep with him."
"What are you talking about?" Cait asked while applying eyeliner to her lids.
"Maybe because you don't want him that way…"
"I love Jack-"
"Yeah...but do you lust for him?"
Cait shook her head in disbelief before Diamond moved to her friend.
"You can love someone or love the idea of someone...without wanting to have s*x with them. But it has been two years and you haven't wanted this-"
"Who says that?"
"The fact that you look at Hunter with more desire to screw him than you do for Jack-"
"I do not! I don't even want that with him."
"I've known you since we fought over the pink crayon in pre-K, I know you better than you may think…"
At this moment, Cait finished her full attire, ending up appearing like a groupie, and still somehow perfectly angelic. This didn't go unnoticed by anyone from those they pulled up alongside to those who were also present within the party. From the second she had entered, Cait was the center of attention. Perhaps it was the amount of skin she had decided to show, or maybe it would be the confidence she had in regards to holding herself to a high standard. Irregardless, this had been done without her having noticed. Diamond on the other hand, always seemed to notice. Which was why seeing Aaron move over to them had turned her frown upside down in knowing he would be the life of the party. It didn't hurt that his gaze fell to her in an amorous manner either-something Diamond had neglected to notice.
"Babe! What are you doing here?" Jack asked upon wrapping his arm around his girlfriend. As he ceased the space between them, there held an overwhelming smell of m*******a and alcohol on his person-making her immediately nauseous. With her mother having suffered with alcoholic dependency that ultimately led to her life having been taken, she had no patience or interest in alcohol.
"I could ask you the same…" she spoke upon seeing Cammy look to her with a glare, almost as if sizing her up.
"Don't be that way...come on...I think you and I need to have some time." Before she could oppose, Cait was pulled from the crowd and into the nearest bedroom where she was pulled against Jack's body. He held an impressive frame, but everything about this moment had put her off. The fact he was drunk, the fact he had lied, and the fact she was seemingly used to make others think he was about to get some, were just a few of these reasons. For once, it had nothing to do with Hunter.
"You are such a tease, coming dressed here like that…"
"You need to get home, we still have school tomorrow-" Cait spoke in an attempt to get him to focus on something else.
"Why can't you loosen up like Cammy? Just relax…" he tried to appear suave but walked her against the bed until collapsing into her rather awkwardly. Although a portion of her body became aroused with his kiss, she couldn't bring herself to focus on anything but how wrong this felt.
"Stop it!" She spoke angrily at him before he continued through her pleas. Unfortunately, he was quite stronger than her; enough to keep her in place for as long as he wanted. His kisses were forced on her lips as his hand reached towards her skin-trying to access her bare skin beneath her bra. Luckily, Cait was a fighter. During one of these forceful kisses, she focused upon the tender skin of his lip and bit down hard enough to make him jump back so she could leave. But he moved after her quickly.
"We love each other don't we? Why are we waiting? I won't take long…" he spoke while trying to pull her back into the room as she continued to try and gain her freedom.
"No!" She spoke loud enough to get the attention of someone standing nearby. "This isn't you, you need to sober up-"
"I need to get off...and you're my girlfriend...it is kind of your job." Cait turned to glare at him. In the two years they had been dating, he had never acted this way. Instead, he had been kind and sweet, maybe even more innocent than her; aside from his social drinking and smoking weed-which was never a problem until tonight.
"My job is to stand up for myself, not let you come because you are too lazy to get yourself off." She spoke in front of the party, making them "oooh" as they were desperate to see his this would transpire.
"That is all that I do...because you won't even give me a h*****b!" Her cheeks became red with a blush before she stomped her way out of the party, embarrassed and mortified. Her mind was so distracted by the words that left her boyfriend's lips, they she didn't notice the unwanted attention by two men nearby. A dangerous amount of attention.
