Zeke My nose poured blood down my face and my cracked rib ached painfully causing my breathing to become difficult. I don't know what I expected when I walked in that kitchen, but the dark-haired Goddess that stood before me wasn't it. Her jet-black hair was pulled up in a messy bun, her jeans hugged her hips perfectly, and I could tell her breast had filled out nicely under the apron she wore. When she looked up at me with those beautiful green eyes, I knew I was done for it. It wasn't until she shook her head and stormed out the door that it occurred to me that she may not want me. Her actions caused my wolf to whimper in my head. "Mate doesn't want us." He whispered sadly. "Who wouldn't want me though? I'm the alpha to a large pack." He crept to the back of my mind and laid down. "Son, maybe you orta give Addy some time. She just got back and y'all put that girl through a lot." I glared at him. "She’s, my mate. The moon Goddess made her just for me and I won't wait to claim her." I shot out. I didn't wait for his response. I just followed the little spit fire through the door. "What the f**k, Adeline!" I yelled out to her. She whirled around on me with nothing but hatred burning in her emerald eyes. "I, Adeline Elizabeth McCloud, reject you Ezekiel Levi Taylor, as my mate and Alpha!" Her words pierced right through my soul. I let out a deafening roar that rattled the trees around us. "You rotten b***h!" I spat the words out as Zeus whined in my head. "Accept it!" She screamed. I stared at her, anguish filling my heart, but it was soon replaced with rage. If she wanted to play this game, then I'd make sure she suffered too. "No!" I roared. I watched as she stood unsteadily to her feet and walked slowly toward me. She stared down at me like I was no better than the mud on her shoes. With a loud grunt, she suddenly kicked me hard in the face. My head exploded. My nose broke with an audible crunch, and I saw stars as blood spray from my nose. "f**k you, Addy!" I screamed. She didn't seem to hear me or if she did, she just didn’t care. She climbed up atop me and started pummeling my face and body. Everywhere she hit sparks erupted on my skin, breaking my heart even more. "f*****g accept it, you piece of s**t!" Her words cut me like a knife, but my rage burned on. "No! You’re a fuckin’ psycho b***h!" I put my hands up, trying to block my face, but my futile attempt to protect myself was pointless. She swung her fist like a sledgehammer right into my ribs and it cracked under the blow causing me to growl out in pain. "f**k you Zeke! You f*****g garbage person! I f*****g hate you! Accept it! Accept it or I'll f*****g kill you!" I could feel her hatred and anger bleed out of her with ever blow she landed on me. Suddenly, her assault stopped. But I could still hear her bitter growls as they cut through the night. My wolf wanted to comfort her, but I just sat stunned at the strength that came from her tiny little body. I looked around and saw Adam, Alec, Tawney, and Emily. "Son, you better just accept the rejection. I don't think my Addy here will stop until she kills you." Lee stood staring down at me with a stern look as he struggled to contain his daughter. I felt the pain ripple through me. "Please don't Zeke... I want my mate." Zeus whimpered. "I'm sorry buddy. Maybe we'll get a second chance." With that I gave her what she had fought so desperately to get. "I, Ezekiel Levi Taylor, accept your rejection as my mate and Luna." I felt the bond break. It felt like I was having open heart surgery without any sedation or anesthesia. I roared out my pain as I tried to claw my own heart out, trying to stop the pain that was lancing through me. I felt two strong arms grab hold of my own and press them firmly to the ground as they fought to restrain me. I looked up to Alec and Adam kneeling over me, holding me down with the weight of their bodies. Alec wore a look of pity, but not Adam. Adam’s face was full of pure satisfaction. I glanced over at Addy. She was wrapped in her father's embrace as she cried, her tears breaking my heart all over again. "Get off me!" I snapped at Adam and Alec. They backed off and put their hands in the air in a show of surrender. I stood, hardening myself. Addy looked up and I saw the silver eyes of her wolf peer out. The anguish on her beautiful face told me her wolf didn't agree with her decision. "I understand your reasonin’ behind your rejection, but after this thing with your grandfather, you will no longer be welcome here. Do you understand?" My words were dead and hollow. I just didn't want to see a constant reminder of what I'd lost. She nodded her head yes as I felt the pop of my rib being put back in place. I cracked my neck and stocked off back to the castle. A drink and a little auburn hair omega would allow me to empty some of this rage out of my soul that was left behind by a darkhaired Goddess.
