Chapter 3

Her wet clothes clung to her like a second skin, but Lucian’s touch was sure, precise, as he slowly removed them, piece by piece. The soaked fabric fell to the floor in heavy thuds, but neither of them paid attention to the sound. Isla stood before him now, her body bare, vulnerable, trembling in the cold air of the room but radiating a heat that pulled Lucian closer, as if he were caught in her orbit. Lucian’s eyes roamed over her, taking in every inch of her skin, the way her chest rose and fell with each ragged breath. She was beautiful, even more so now that she stood before him stripped of her usual defenses. The strong, independent Isla was still there, but this version of her, raw, exposed, needing him, stirred something primal deep inside. For a moment, Lucian stood still, fighting a war within himself. His wolf growled, pacing restlessly in his mind, wanting to take her, to claim her as his own. But Lucian held back, gripping the last shreds of his control. He couldn’t afford to lose himself, not with Isla. He reached out, his hand gently caressing her cheek, the pad of his thumb brushing her lips as he stared into her eyes. “Are you sure?” he whispered, his voice rough with the intensity of his emotions. Isla nodded, her hands rising to press against his chest, her fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt. “I’m sure,” she whispered, her voice barely audible, her lips trembling as she spoke. He exhaled slowly, letting go of the breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. Without another word, Lucian pulled his shirt over his head, tossing it aside before wrapping his arms around her. The heat of their skin pressed together was electrifying, and Isla let out a soft gasp as she melted into him, her head resting against his chest. He lifted her again, cradling her against him as he laid her down on the bed, his eyes never leaving hers. The room was dimly lit, the storm outside still raging, its thunder a distant echo as the rain beat against the windows. It was as if the world outside had disappeared, leaving just the two of them in this intimate, tempestuous moment. Lucian hovered over her, his weight supported by his arms as he brushed his lips softly against hers once more, his kiss a promise of what was to come. This time, the kiss was slower, more deliberate. He wasn’t rushing, wasn’t trying to satisfy his own needs. No, this was about her. About easing her pain, about giving her the release she so desperately craved. His lips trailed from her mouth to her jaw, then down her neck, leaving a trail of heat in their wake. Isla’s breath hitched, her hands sliding up his back, fingers digging into his skin as if she needed to anchor herself to him. Lucian could feel the tremors running through her, not just from the cold, but from the emotions roiling inside her. His hands moved down her body, tracing the curves of her waist, her hips, as his lips followed the same path. Every touch, every kiss was a slow, deliberate exploration of her, as if he were memorizing every inch of her skin. Isla’s breath became more ragged, her body arching beneath his touch, and Lucian felt his restraint slipping with each passing second. But he refused to rush. This wasn’t just about taking her. This was about giving her something she hadn’t asked for: comfort, solace, an escape from the pain that had driven her to his door. He would be her refuge tonight, even if it meant crossing the line he had vowed never to cross. As his hands and lips moved over her, Isla let out soft, breathy moans, her body responding to him in ways she couldn’t control. Her fingers threaded through his hair, tugging gently as she arched into him, her body begging for more, even as her mind sought escape. Lucian’s control snapped as her pleas grew more desperate, her body more demanding. His wolf howled, urging him to claim her, and finally, he gave in. His hands gripped her hips firmly as he lowered himself over her, his lips finding hers in a searing kiss that stole the breath from her lungs. Isla’s legs wrapped around his waist, pulling him closer, her need for him palpable in every touch, every whispered plea. Lucian growled low in his throat as he positioned himself over her, his breath coming in harsh, uneven gasps. For a moment, he hesitated, his gaze locking with hers. He ran his hand over her p***y slowly to check if she was ready for this, his c**k instantly hardened when he felt her wetness on hand. Lucian’s breath hitched as his fingers grazed over her, feeling the undeniable slickness that had gathered between her thighs. The warmth of her arousal only stoked the fire inside him, making it nearly impossible to hold back any longer. His wolf growled low in his chest, clawing at the surface, demanding to take what was being offered, but Lucian forced himself to stay in control. This moment, this connection, had to be about more than just satisfying their physical desires. His eyes met hers again, darkened with both lust and a tender, unspoken emotion that ran much deeper than he had anticipated. Isla’s breathing was shallow, her chest rising and falling rapidly, her lips parted in expectation. With one last lingering stroke, he pulled his hand away, positioning himself between her thighs. His hands gripped her waist, strong and steady, as he lined himself up, the tip of his hardened c**k teasing her entrance. He paused for a moment, savoring the anticipation. Gently, he pressed forward, feeling her body give way to him, enveloping him in her warmth. Isla gasped, her back arching slightly off the bed, her nails digging into his skin. Lucian groaned, his jaw clenching as he fought to maintain control, to move slowly, to ensure that every movement was deliberate, that every thrust was measured.
