Bill was on his back, and his body was on fire. He screamed but very little sound came out because his mouth was plugged and sealed with a large rubber pear that had been inserted and then inflated to fill his oral cavity, extending his jaws more than any dentist had ever done to him. His arms were bound together under the gurney he lay on, and his legs had been pulled back on either side of the gurney with the right ankle chained to the left wrist and the left ankle chained to his right wrist. Wrists and ankles were bound with tape and then the cuffs had been locked over the tape to prevent undue chafing and skin damage.
