Chapter 14 explaining

Saturn’s P.O.V

  I walked inside and saw Mercury, Trevor and Cody standing in the kitchen, all of them looking worried, nervous and unsure. Mercury looked at me, shaking his head, but I just ignored him and walked upstairs to Cheyenne’s room. I took a deep breath, let it out and then knocked on her door. I heard heavy mad footsteps, stomping towards the door, the sound of it unlocking and then the door opened to a red eyed, crying Cheyenne. Cheyenne moved out of the way so I could walk inside and as soon I had she closed the door and locked it again.

  “Don't you dare tell that asshole I was crying over him. He doesn't deserve to know.” Cheyenne said, still standing by the door.

  “Don't worry honey, I won’t say a word, I won't tell him. Now come and sit down, there's probably a lot of questions you need answered.” I replied, taking a seat on the bed and she looked like she was deep in thought when suddenly her eyes went wide and she looked at me in shock.

  “Are you one as well? Was that you at the party that nudged my hand? Will I be eating dog food and start chewing on bones? Will I start barking at the mailman? Will I ever be human again?” Cheyenne asked, making me laugh.

  “Yes that was me, I didn't want to scare you so I nudged your hand, letting you know that I wasn't going to hurt you. No, you won’t start eating dog food or chew on bones, you won't bark at the mailman either. You are our family, we are werewolves and what you are seeing right now is our human form, we only shift when we need to. We don't hunt other humans, but we do hunt rogue’s and blood thirsty vampires. We kill them before they kill us. We all have a job here, including me, I'm the one that welcomes newcomers. Trevor is Mercury’s second or Beta, if Mercury has a job that needs doing and he can't do it right now then he sends Trevor to do it. Cody is the backup guy, if Trevor can't do it then Cody will. The cook is also a werewolf, everyone here is a werewolf, we protect our family. Mercury is the Mafia boss, he's the head Alpha Don, he leads the pack and takes very good care of us. Now, your role, well you are our Luna, she protects us beside Mercury and you have proven that point when you saved him. Mercury imprinted on you and from what I see you have imprinted on him. Do you love him?” I asked, I knew this was going to be a lot for her to take in, but it's best to just rip the bandaid off and tell her everything. She was really calm and thinking over what I had just asked and then she just flopped down on the bed next to me.

  “Yes, yes I love him, but I hate him for what he's done to me.” Cheyenne said, sighing in defeat.

  “Cheyenne, he hasn't done anything to you. He saved your life, you needed that blood transfusion or you would have died. He marked you so others would know that you are taken by the Mafia boss, the Kingpin, the King of King’s, the King of all Alpha’s. You my dear are the Luna of the most powerful wolf there is. You my dear are the most powerful Luna of them all, you are the Queen of Queens, Cheyenne. Mercury loves you and at the moment he's down there with a broken heart, he thinks you are going to reject him. Once you shift, I mean your first shift you will be able to do that and he's scared and worried. When is your 19th birthday?” I asked, but Cheyenne was so busy letting everything sink in that she didn't reply straight away.

  “Oh, sorry, it's in three days.” Cheyenne replied, making me raise my eyebrows at her. Three days, three days isn't enough time.

  “Well, I know you've been working out in the gym, I've seen you so that will help. I need to go and tell Mercury we don't have much time, just let him help you. You can hate him later, okay?” I said, panicking about the amount of time we have.

  “Alright, so we have three days….for what?” Cheyenne asked, nodding and then looking confused.

  “To meet your wolf and shift. I need to get back downstairs.” I replied, laughing and hugging Cheyenne. I unlocked the door and calmly walked out, then as soon as Cheyenne had shut the door behind me I ran as fast as I could down the stairs and straight to Mercury’s office. I burst through the doors and was met by shocked and surprised looks.

  “We have three days….three f*****g days to get her prepared. Her birthday is in three damn days. Can we do this? Can we get her prepared in time?” I asked and Mercury immediately stood up, knocking his chair backwards.

  “f**k! I need to see her and explain things to her.” Mercury said and I nodded, but then everyone started walking out.

  “We all need to go up there, it's the only way for her to understand.” Trevor said and they all nodded.

  “Hey, wait. This is just going to overwhelm her if we all go up there. Mercury and I will go up there first and talk to her. If she wants to talk more then we will invite Trevor and some other girls, maybe Nora, Rachel and a few others, but first let's just have us two go up so she won’t feel pressured or scared.” I said, trying to make them see sense and they nodded.

  Trevor’s P.O.V

  There is so much going on that it is giving me a headache. There is no wonder why I haven't found my mate yet, it's too much drama.

  “So, when she gets mad how long does it take for her to calm down?” I asked, turning to Cody.

  “I guess, until she is ready to calm down. There was a month where she didnt talk to Amber because Amber pulled a prank on her. They went skinny dipping and Amber took Cheyenne’s clothes, making her walk through the woods naked to get home. She had to climb through her window hoping that her mom and dad wouldn't catch her. Yeah she was pissed, even Amber left her alone.” Cody said, smirking at the memory.

  “Let's hope it doesn't take that long with them.” I replied, shaking my head and looking up the stairs.

  Mercury’s P.O.V

  Saturn and I ran upstairs to Cheyennes room and as soon as she saw me she picked up a book and threw it at me. I ducked as the book hit the wall and fell to the floor, but she just picked up another one and threw it at me. I caught the book this time and placed it down on the dresser, I was getting pissed off with this, we didn't have time for this.

  “CHEYENNE, DAMN IT! LISTEN TO ME! SIT YOUR ASS DOWN WE NEED TO TALK!” I screamed at her and she looked a little taken back by my outburst.

  “You have five minutes and then you leave.” Cheyenne replied, sitting down.

  “Fine, five minutes and I'll leave, now shut the hell up.” I said, taking a seat on the chair opposite her.

  “You have three days before your first shift and we need to show and tell you what's going to happen. We have many here who can help you, you can pick whoever you want to show you how to do this. If you don't want me around then fine, I won't be around, but you need help, Cheyenne.” I said, getting up and walking to the door to leave.

  “STOP!” Cheyenne screamed, making me stop and turn around to face her.

  “If you leave this room then ill be done with your crazy psychopath ass.” Cheyenne said, pissing me off.

  “I might be crazy, but I'm not a f*****g psychopath. I could be though, if you don't watch your tongue.” I said, growling at her and she rolled her eyes.

  “Stop trying to be a macho man with me, you know that s**t doesn't work with me. Now shut up and tell me what I need to know before I throw another book at you.” Cheyenne said, making me laugh. Does this mean that she has forgiven me? I walked back over and sat on the bed next to her.

  “First of all you can mind-link. Mind-linking is when you can speak to another person privately in your mind, so that no one else can hear unless you want them to. See watch me.” I said and my eyes glazed over.

  “Hi Cheyenne, you are a beautiful woman, you know that.” I said, mind-linking her and then looked at her face. Cheyenne's eyes went huge as she stared at me.

  “I could hear you, but your lips weren’t moving. I'm going to try.” Cheyenne replied, looking at Saturn.

  Cheyenne’s P.O.V

  I turned to face Saturn, hoping that this would work and concentrated as hard as I could.

  “Is he always like this?” I said, hoping that I did it right so that no one else could hear and then suddenly it was like a connection was made in my head.

  “Yes, always, but he does care a lot.” Saturn replied, coming through loud and clear.

  “Oh my gosh, I could hear you. I did it right, this is so cool.” I said, laughing at my achievement.

  “Good, your learning. Has your wolf spoken to you yet? She should be trying to if you let her. Sit down and be silent for a few minutes and see what happens.” Mercury said, confusing me.

  “How will I know?” I asked, but before I could get another word out, Mercury glared at me.

  “Just shut up and listen.” Mercury said and we all got comfy, but I had no idea on what to do. I decided that if i had to sit in silence, waiting for my so called wolf to talk to me then i was at least going to do something while i waited. I got my laptop, sat back down on the bed and just started to Google things to buy. I got a selection of earrings and a set of gold hoops.

  “Oh, I like those, they will go great with that black jacket you have.” A woman said, startling me.

  “Did you hear that?” I asked, looking at Saturn, but she shook her head.

  “Hear what?” Saturn asked and looked at Mercury.

  “Did you hear it?” I asked Mercury, but he shook his head too.

  “Then I guess I'm hearing things, then.” I said and looked back down at my laptop. I clicked to buy the hoops and then started looking at mens watches. I wanted to find a nice watch for Mercury, something that said badass, but not written like that. I turned my eyes to a dark Rolex, but the clock face was blue and it looked really nice, I clicked on the buy and bought it, when suddenly I heard the voice again.

  “He's going to like that, his wolf Asher is very charming. I told him about the watch you were looking at and he said that Mercury will love it.” The woman said and I decided to just try and talk privately with this mystery voice.

  “Are you my wolf? Who is Asher? What is your name?” I asked and the voice chuckled.

  “Yes, I'm your wolf and my name is Sheba, I've been waiting to come out for a very long time. Asher is Mercury’s wolf, he is a badass, just like him and just like you I'm going to be a handful. He's angry that you threw things at his head, but don't hate him Cheyenne, he's hurting. He only did the blood transfusion to save your life. He loves you, he just won't admit it yet. You need to trust me Cheyenne, when we shift you need to let me take over. Everything will be okay.” Sheba replied and I listened to everything she was saying. I was enjoying it, but I didn't realise that Saturn and Mercury were watching me until both of them cleared their throats, making me jump and my eyes go back to normal.

  “I take it you were talking to your wolf, you were sitting there in a daze for almost an hour.” Saturn asked, making me blush.

  “Hmmm, yeah about that…..your wolf Asher is just as badass as you and Sheba likes him.” I said, looking at Mercury and his eyes lit up to hear that.

  “Really? She does?” Mercury asked and I nodded yes.

  “She does. Saturn, can you give me and Mercury some time please, we need to talk.” I said and Saturn nodded, getting up.

  “Sure, I'll be back in thirty minutes, okay.” Saturn said, shutting the door behind her. I got up from the bed and walked over to Mercury just as he stood up.

  “I'll only say I'm sorry for throwing things at you. I honestly don't know what is going to happen to me or how this will start. I'm not even sure about you and me, but I'll try. This is all new to me, being like this, but I'm willing to try.” I said and Mercury held his hand out to me, I took it and he pulled me closer to him.

  “So, you wanna be with me? You wanna be my badass Mob Queen, that takes no s**t from anyone, including me.” Mercury said, making me laugh.

  “I never did take any of your bullshit, but yes, I wanna be with you, to be your badass Mob Queen, whatever that means.” I said, wrapping my arms around Mercury’s neck as we both started laughing.
