Chapter ,27 getting him back

Cheyenne’s P.O.V

  Could the rumours about Alpha Kent be right? Mercury had said in the first meeting I had with him that even his pack ran away, none of them wanting to be here.

  “My name is Ryder, this here is Tiker and over there is Benny. We know why you're here and we have been waiting for you to arrive, we would be honoured if you would let us join you. There are plenty more of us that are wanting to join as well, we hate this pack and what Alpha Kent is doing, how he has treated us. We will serve and protect our new Alpha and that is you.” Ryder said, looking at me and I nodded. The rumours were definitely true if they were willing to betray their Alpha and change sides.

  “Do you know where he is?” I asked and all three of them nodded.

  “Yes we do, he is with her. Suzie has been shooting him up with wolfsbane and other drugs to keep him amiable to her. She has been spraying this scent on herself and he keeps calling her Cheyenne, when we know she is not. We will take you there, but you must be careful.” Ryder replied and I nodded, knowing that this was going to be even harder than what I first thought. We all followed the guards and we passed by many pack members, when they knew what was happening they ran and knew it was time for them to be free. Hawk hadn't left my side since we started this and for some reason he seemed to be very protective, maybe it was because Mercury was his oldest friend.

  “Listen, we need to split up, some of the guards might not agree with the ones that are helping us. We will kill them off and then we will meet up inside.” Hawk suggested and I nodded. It was a good idea and I didn't want anyone that was against us to alert Alpha Kent to us being here. We split up into three teams, Hawk, Spike, Amber and Cody in one team went to the left Trevor, Shark, Rachel and a few others went to the right, while Goldie, Nora Ryder, Tiker, Benny and I went straight into the house. We started searching inside the house, going past different rooms and that's when I heard it, laughter and giggles. I stopped in front of a door and immediately recognised it from my dream, this was what I had been dreading, but I knew what I was going to see when I opened that door. I took a deep breath and braced myself, ready for anything and opened the door. I walked inside and what I saw pissed me off. Suzie was laying next to Mercury with her head resting on his chest and her fingertips were running up and down his chest and stomach before reaching down to his pants. She started to unbutton his pants and I let out a loud growl, stopping her and making them both look at me.

  “How the f**k did you get in here?!” Mercury said, growling at me and then looked at Suzie.

  “Cheyenne, is this the woman you have been telling me about? Is she the one that escaped and is trying to hurt us again? Why is she here?” Mercury asked her and I laughed, rolling my eyes.

  “Do you seriously think that this skank is me? Open your eyes Mercury.” I said and Suzie smirked. 

  “His eyes are wide open dear and he knows that I am Cheyenne and you are not, you are Suzie. I knew you would try and sneak inside. GUARDS! TAKE HER TO THE CELLS!” Suzie ordered and the three guards stepped forward. Thankfully Goldie and Nora had managed to stay hidden, meaning that they could mind-link the others and let them know what was going on.

  “I’m sorry.” Ryder whispered and handcuffed my hands behind my back, dragging me out of the room and past Nora and Goldie. I shook my head to them when they went to step forward and try to help me, knowing that I needed to do this.

  “Cheyenne, the locks on the outer doors don't work, wait until they are inside and just do what you need to.” Ryder whispered, giving me the heads up and I nodded. They walked me into the cell and shut the cell door behind me. I sat on the floor with my head on my knees, but I couldn't just sit here and got back to my feet, pacing around. Yeah, sure the locks on the doors didn't work, but I still needed to get out of this god damn cell. I remembered my dream and I knew exactly what I had to do. I grabbed hold of the silver bars, making my skin burn and sizzle, but I didn't care, I was used to the pain. I heard voices outside and was so determined to get out of this cell that I had forgotten that the doors didn't lock, then I heard her, Suzie, that slut laughing and this pissed me off even more. I bent the bars, as it ripped my flesh apart and finally the bars broke in my hands. I stepped out just as Suzie and Alpha Kent walked in, as soon as they saw me they both froze.

  “I told you she was a lot stronger than you thought she was, we should have drugged her with wolfsbane.” Suzie said, but Alpha Kent shook his head.

  “She is too strong for that, we need to chain her up.” Alpha Kent said and Suzie laughed.

  “Give it up girl, your mate is dead.” Suzie said, but I knew what was coming next and I was ready for it. I smelled his scent, I knew that he was close by and I walked forward.

  “What do you mean my mate is dead? What did you do to him?” I asked, grabbing Suzie by the throat and swinging her across the room, straight into the concrete wall behind me. I heard her bones break and then Alpha Kent growled.

  “Get up b***h or she will kill you.” Alpha Kent shouted out, but he must have known he was going to die because his face drained of colour.

  “I’LL GET YOU b***h! DON'T WORRY I’LL GET YOU AND YOUR PACK TOO!” Alpha Kent screamed out as he ran away. I rolled my eyes just as the guards walked in.

  “Go and get Mercury, take him back to our territory and tell the guards you will be joining the pack. When you get inside the pack house, put him in a room and tie him to a chair. I want two guards outside the door at all times and two below the window outside. Do not let anyone inside that room until I get there.” I ordered and they nodded, immediately leaving to do as I said. I walked over to where Suzie was still lying in a heap, but when she saw me coming she just about managed to get up and hold her fighting stance.

  “So Suzie, you were trying to seduce my mate. What do you think all of this would have caused, if you remember right you have to kill me before he even considers taking another mate. You dumb b***h, just because you have that spray doesnt mean that he would truly want you.” I said and she growled at me. I grabbed her by the throat and elongated my claws, digging them into her flesh. Suzie cried out in pain and grabbed my hands trying to remove them from her neck. I obliged and let go only to grab her by the hair and yank her head back exposing her neck. 

  “I thought I would give you an easy death, but an easy death won't suit you at all.” I said, smirking at her. My canines grew and sunk them deep into her throat, clutching onto a chunk of her flesh and ripped it out. Suzie screamed once and then made this blood gurgling sound and I knew she was about to die. I reached into the open wound of her throat and grabbed her windpipe, ripping it through the hole and crushing it in my hand. I let go of her limp body and she dropped to the floor, bleeding out.

  “I'll leave your rotting corpse for the rats to feast upon, they will just love you.” I said, wiping her blood off my hands and onto her shoulder. I ran out of the cell just as Hawk and the others came running in.

  “The guards took Mercury back to our territory, no one is here now.” Hawk said, covered in blood. The other guards that were still loyal to Alpha Kent must have put up one hell of a fight judging by how they all looked.

  “Burn this place down, I don't want a single thing left. I need to start heading back to the SUV to get back home, I need to see Mercury.” I said and they all quickly began to look for stuff to ignite the fire.

  Hawk’s P.O.V

  I went straight to the kitchen, while the others started on the outside of the house, pouring gasoline all around it. I disconnected the main gas line to the ovens and waited for the gas and fumes to fill the room, before exiting out the back door and striking a box of matches. I threw the matches back into the kitchen through the open window and then ran as far away as I could from it.

  “Everyone get back, the house is going to blow.” I said, mind-linking everyone. There was a hissing noise followed by a crack and then the loudest bang I had ever heard. The house exploded and bits of debris were flying everywhere as the flames grew higher and higher, it looked like it was almost reaching the stars. I ran around the house to the front, dodging falling debris and found the others.

  “Holy s**t Hawk, I know you said the house was going to blow up, but this is something else.” Goldie said, looking at the flames and destruction.

  “We need to get out of here now, the fire will follow the gas line and it won't be long before the whole territory explodes.” I said and we all started running back to the main gate. We jumped into the cars and sped away, once we had reached a safe enough distance the cars stopped and we looked back, just in time to see the rest of the territory combust and be engulfed in flames.

  “How far away are we?” Nora asked, as Spike tried to bandage her arm. She wasn't hurt that badly and it would heal in no time at all, but that wouldn't calm Spike down at the moment and he killed the guard who had made the gashes with his claws.

  “We are about four miles away from the border of the territory.” Trevor replied, turning to face the front of the car.

  “Wow and you can still see the flames, that is one hell of a fire.” Cody said, looking as if the fire had hypnotized him. Cheyenne was in the seat next to me and she was really quiet, she wasn't even looking at the fire, but I know it's because she just wanted to get back to Mercury.

  Cheyenne’s P.O.V

  When we finally arrived back at the pack house it was three in the morning and everyone was tired. There were some major and minor injuries, but thank god none of us were killed. I was shocked when we walked inside and everyone was waiting for us, it was like the whole pack had turned out to welcome us home and it was a really nice feeling. 

  “Welcome back.” They all said together and I smiled at them.

  “Thank the Goddess you're all alright.” Becky said, walking over to us.

  “Is he in his room?” I asked and Becky nodded, but she looked really sad.

  “He’s been screaming for hours, he's rambling on about how Suzie will kill you, but he keeps calling her Cheyenne. We have to help you.” Becky replied, making me sigh.

  “We have a long road ahead of us, Becky. Suzie sprayed herself with this scent that made him think that Suzie was me and I was Suzie. They drugged him with wolfsbane and something else, but I don't know what it was. I don't know how long the spray will last, but only time will tell. I'm going to head up there now.” I said, explaining why he was doing that.

  “Good luck.” Becky and Hawk whispered to me as I turned to walk up the steps. If the Moon Goddesses warning was right then we were in for a long and bumpy road, but I was ready for it. I was going to get him back, no matter what I was going to get him back. I had to.
