We went to the house for breakfast after a slow f**k, one I felt connected us beyond the physical. She’d held my gaze while I’d made love to her—because that’s exactly what I’d done—and we came together, breathing each other’s names against one another’s lips. Sunday morning. A mere eight or so hours left before needing to return to Boston, and I had no plan. Nothing. Telling her I was falling for her and wanted to explore beyond the weekend seemed the right thing to do, but I couldn’t get the words past the wall blocking my emotions from letting loose. Adam eyed me over his coffee mug as we ate, Luna’s attention on Lily as she and Mrs. Hummel attempted to get the two-year-old Laurent twins to eat. More food landed on the floor and splattered over the table than got in their little mouth
