As I arrived back home and passed through the front door, my guards at the gate greeted me. I returned their greetings and made my way to my room.
I felt incredibly happy knowing that I had played a part in helping Callie get her job back.
I noticed that the more time passed, the more I found myself drawn to her. It felt strange, but I couldn't deny my feelings.
My son has made it clear that he doesn't need Callie, and ever since I have been pretending to love her (which I actually do), he hasn't shown any signs of jealousy. This means that he truly meant his rejection.
Instead of trying to please someone else and hurting myself in the process, I have decided to please myself by making Callie mine.
