Chapter 21 welcome to my territory

Mercury’s P.O.V

  When Damien came into the office with the guards he hurried straight to his mate, Elina, kneeling down in front of her and checking her for any injuries.

  “Are you okay? Did they hurt you in any way?” Damien asked Elina, but she just smiled sweetly at him as she cupped his face in her hands.

  “No Damien, they have only been listening to me and haven't laid a finger on me. King Charlie was right, they are not the cruel monsters that Vince said they were. Vince tried to convince everyone that they were, but they're not, they are just a regular family, just a mafia family, that's all.” Elina replied, making me chuckle a little until Cheyenne cleared her throat.

  “Listen, you don't have to leave. You see, my family, my human family died and I brought their house and it's close to here.” Cheyenne said, handing them a set of keys, but how is that possible?

  “Cheyenne, how did you buy their house when I burnt it to the ground after I killed them?” I asked, mind-linking Cheyenne, but she just rolled her eyes at me.

  “I’m not talking about my adoptive parents, I’m talking about my mom, she had a house with her….well, the man she was with, the one that killed her. I found out where she lived and I brought her house, wanting to be closer to her.” Cheyenne replied, mind-linking me and surprising me.

  “Why didn't you tell me about this? Does your dad know that you did this?” I asked, curious.

  “I didn't tell you because when I brought it we were having a few problems, you know with Anna getting kidnapped and everything else that happened. I brought it when I was recovering from my burns and yes, dad knows about it. He was fine with it.” Cheyenne replied and then ended the link as I nodded at her. We returned to facing Elina and her mate Damien, who were too busy looking at each other to notice that Cheyenne and I were talking through the mind-link.

  “It's a few hours away from here, but you can go to that house and live in peace as long as you do not cause any harm to any humans, if you do then I’ll come and kill you myself. Is that clear?” Cheyenne said, writing down the address and giving it to Elina. They both nodded yes and got up, leaving the office to go and pack up Elina’s belongings and get Damiens from the guards that brought him in here.

  “Dad, what are we going to do? He won't stop until you are dead.” Anna asked, turning to face me.

  “We will be just fine, don't worry. I’m not being snarky or bull headed, but I know Vince that they have told us about and he has been after my business for many years. He has watched and learned how I do things, but he didn't know that I knew he was there. I could smell him and he smells like rotten flesh. He’s a rogue vampire that is only after one thing and that is power. He will come after me because I have power and he will go after you Anna because you have powers. His one goal is to destroy families and businesses, but we will take care of it when it's time.” I replied and they all nodded. William pulled Anna closer to him, growling under his breath at the thought of someone else trying to take Anna, but she would be protected. Suddenly there was a knock at the door.

  “Come in.” I said, but as the door opened I saw that it was Elina and Damien again. I thought they were leaving after they got their stuff.

  “Elina, Damien, what's going on?” I asked, confused as to why they were back so soon.

  “We are sorry that we are back, but Vince sent others after us and they want to join us too. They are here right now, but they won't enter without your permission and we didn't want to just take them to the house without asking you or without you checking them out first.” Damien replied, making me sigh. This was fast becoming a nightmare, I never wanted vampires in my territory, but I couldn't just throw them out when they were in this mess because someone had a grudge against me. Where the hell am I going to put them all?

  “They are welcome here, let them come onto the territory.” I said, shaking my head at the growing headache I was getting.

  “I know this is a weird request, but I need a coven built at the far back of the house. I need a fence all around it where they can only enter and leave from and we will need guards in place to protect them from what is to come. I want it built right now.” I said, mind-linking my builders.

  “Yes, you're right, it is a weird request, but we are on it right away.” My head builder replied, mind-linking me back and I ended the link to let them get to work. I waited until all the vampires had arrived in my office and I was shocked. These were just kids, well, they looked like kids, but I would bet anything they were all centuries old.

  “Elina told us what happened and I already have my builders building you a new home or coven as you call it, but until then you can stay here. Your house will be ready in a few days and I’ll have beds and furniture for you as well. Now, I am going to ask two things of you, the first is you are going to need to pick who you want for your Alpha and Luna, as soon as you say their names it is final. The second is not a request, it is a demand, while you are here on my land there will be no feeding on humans on my land.” I said, standing firm. They all looked at each other and I could tell that they were talking through their mind-link, but then they all stopped and nodded.

  “We have made our decision. We want Elina and Damien to be our Alpha and Luna. They have kept us safe for so many years and they are the true protectors of our coven.” One of the youngest looking vampires replied and I nodded. I got the paperwork that I had recently used for when another Alpha was assigned to run their pack and printed it off. I stamped the paperwork and got everyone to sign it.

  “Okay, so what are you going to name your coven? You will need a name to form a coven.” I said and Elina nodded.

  “I want us to be called the vampire protector coven. I want all vampires to know that if they want peace then they can join us and we will protect them.” Elina replied and I nodded.

  “Very well.” I said and wrote their coven name on the head of the paperwork.

  “Alright, you will have the rooms on the fifth floor and in three days time your house will be ready. It's being built as we are talking now, so go rest or do whatever it is that vampires do, but do not feed on my territory because I will not stand for it.” I said, but they looked stunned at what I had said.

  “We don't only feed on blood, sir, we eat food as well as. We only feed on blood when we start to thirst, but we have already fed, so it will take months for us to thirst.” Damien replied and I nodded. I guess it's true what they say, you learn something new everyday.

  “Alright then, go rest.” I said and they all nodded as they left my office.
