*COMPLETED* Two identical twins who have always had each other’s back are now faced with a dilemma…

Their parents arranged a date for their daughter Evelyn who’s a shy and reserved woman who also has great difficultly saying ‘no’ out of fear of disappointing her parents. She agreed to the date but begged her twin brother (Evan) to go there instead of her and reject the man their parents have chosen for her. It was supposed to be a simple enough ordeal however everything changes after Evan happens to fall in love with the man he went out on a date with…

(Same universe as the characters from Depend On Me, however this is years after the ending of that book)

Help Me (1)
Egotistical Affection Volume 1 Takano Masamune Chapter 1: Help Me! (1) *** Growing up in a good neighborhood as a middle class family came with its perks and it’s setbacks… You weren’t quite well off enough to afford a lavish lifestyle and you definitely weren’t anywhere near the poverty line either… When it came to schooling, and socializing with others, you’d always end up being somewhere in the middle as well… Those that were above you in wealth wouldn’t want to be associated with those beneath them… While those that were less fortunate than you would be far too afraid to engage in conversation… Such was the life that these two twins lead… Evelyn and Evan, and although their names were similar and they were a set of identical twins, those two were as different as humans can ever be… Their appearance was so similar to each other that if it weren’t for their different hair lengths and overall style, it would be near impossible to tell them apart just by looking at them. Their personalities though were a totally different matter altogether… Evelyn was a kind and caring woman, she was rather shy and meek on the best of days. She was very introverted and you’d rarely ever get into a confrontation with her. She didn’t wish to be the way she was but she couldn’t help getting anxious when around others and especially around crowds of people. Evelyn had the knack for studying however, she was an academic genius in all regards, top of her class, top of the school… She was brilliant, and maybe it was due to her introverted-ness that she spent so much of her time reading instead of doing anything else but she was knowledgeable on various subjects, whether it came to mechanics or chemistry, she was a fast learner and a curious person by nature. Her identical twin brother however was so vastly different than her that if they didn’t look the exact same nobody would ever know they were siblings. He was on the louder side of the fence and very extraverted, he made friends easily but school was as difficult to him as socializing was to Evelyn… He wasn’t the best when it came to academics, nor was he particularly good at sports, he slacked off on the best of days but made sure to at least get passing grades when it was nessessary. Despite knowing how capable his sister was, he never liked the idea of cheating. He was an honest man so he’d simply cram last minute and pray to the Gods that would listen, just so he’d pass a test or two. Of course it wasn’t that he particularly mind using his charm to perform a bit better. If he could score points outside of normal class duties, he’d do just that. Evan was a lot of things but not a push over, he never really cared for other’s opinions, which was probably what made even more people drawn to him in the first place. He never cared whether he was liked or not, he just did his own thing. These two siblings were complete opposites to one another in every way imaginable. But they got along better than normal siblings as well. They never really competed against each other, since both of them knew they had their own strengths and weaknesses, their parents and classmates never compared them to one another either. They had the same shade of light brown hair, that they kept at different lengths. Evelyn’s hair reached her lower back, while Evan’s hair he kept short and styled on one side in a typical manly fashion. Both of them had the same white skin and gentle looking faces. Evelyn often put on make up to make her features a bit less delicate, she enjoyed using all kinds of colors and shades of eye shadow and lipstick as she grew up. They both had the same blue eyes that they got from their father and they had their mother’s silky smooth hair and fair complexion. Evan’s style of clothing was always on the edgier side of things, he dressed in black mostly and rather casually on the best of days. While Evelyn, although more shy, liked dressing up in brighter colors, sometimes softer on occasion, her style was a bit more elegant. They shared the same height, very similar weight and body type. Both were very thin and neither had an easy time developing muscle or gaining weight even if they wanted to. Which in turn made Evelyn look a bit boyish due to the lack of curves on her body and made Evan look a bit girlish due to his thin frame. But neither of them complained about the way they were born and how they looked, if nothing else was similar about their personalities, then at least they shared a single thought about life: “Life is far too precious to spend it thinking you’re not enough.” Those were wise words they had grown up hearing from both their parents who were insistent that they mustn’t ever doubt themselves or their abilities, even if they truly were lacking in some departments… So both the boy and the girl grew up together in a very fine neighborhood and went about their life as they wished. They got along well with their parents who wanted nothing but the best for them… On their 19th birthday however the parents had decided to make a small surprise for the daughter… “You did… what?” Evelyn asked in a rather quiet voice, as she typically spoke. She was usually more confident around her parents however at that moment most of the color had left her already pale face. Even the bright red lipstick and the pretty pink eye shadow she wore, wasn’t enough to hide how ghostly she looked at that moment. “We arranged a date for you, with a very lovely young man!” The mother said with a cheerful voice. “He’s kind and gentle and most of all he’s rich!” She said with a rather proud look in her eyes as if she had achieved something great. “Now… now honey that’s not what’s most important, now is it?” The father spoke up, he turned to his daughter. “He’s a great boy and his parents had taken an interest in our family. You don’t need to go to that date if you don’t want to, just remember that.” He said in a reassuring voice, yet his eyes had the same excitement that his wife had at that moment. If anything it was obvious that this date was something both of them were hoping their daughter would agree to…
