Aylee's POV
I close my eyes feeling the pleasure. His lips are on my neck, continuing their sweet assault. I am lost in this pure bliss and I don't ever want this to stop.
"I should leave," he whispers against my neck.
The words that I absolutely don't like to hear.
"Stay for a few more minutes," I ask him, making him pull away from me and look at me.
His brown eyes feel warm and safe. I run my fingers through his hair making him smile. He always loved when I did that.
"I came here telling the guards that I have a report. It's been half an hour," he says again but I care the least about what he is saying.
"You are so handsome," I tell him, making him chuckle.
"Well, thank you Alpha," he smiles.
Colton is my pack's warrior. The Moon Set pack. My great grandfather named this pack with the meaning that The Moon Goddess never sets and so does the pack. My great grandfather was also a self made Alpha. He brought together abandoned wolves and made this from scratch.
It was my father who officially bought this status as one of the legal packs. It took us decades to get officialised but here we are now. With one of the strongest defense systems even though the army is small. The pack itself is small though.
"Lost in thoughts again?" Colton calls me, making me forget about what I was thinking about earlier.
"Kind of," I smile at him.
"What do you want for your birthday?" He asks me again.
"Let's not make a big deal out of it, Colton" I say but he only laughs.
"Come on! You are turning eighteen in three months. That calls for a celebration. You are going to get your wolf. You are going to find your mate and-"
"No," I stop him mid sentence.
"I don't want a mate. I have you," I smile at him but his smile doesn't reach his eyes.
"But not without your father's blessing. We know how he can be," Colton says.
I fall into deep thought just thinking about my father. He handed me the pack when I was sixteen. Typically how any Alpha would do on their legal heir's sixteenth birthday.
But he believes in mate bond. He believes in Moon Goddess's will. He believes in Moon Goddess's choice and her ability in pairing up. Not that I don't believe or anything, but I genuinely love Colton for who he is. Maybe he is a bit older than me. He is twenty two now and I am seventeen, turning eighteen in three months.
It would be a task for me to break this news to my father.
There is a knock on the door and Colton quickly hides under my bed. I yell for them to come in.
One of the guards walks in with an envelope in his hands. He hands me the envelope, bows to me and walks out again making Colton come out of hiding.
No one knows of our relationship yet. And he is persistent that we have s*x only after I turn eighteen. So it's just about lots of kisses, hugs and making out.
I open the envelope and read all of the contents inside. And I cross check the seal. It is indeed from The Nightfall Pack.
"The Nightfall Pack have officially opened the gates?" Colton asks and I notice he is reading the letter along with me.
"And Alpha Farrell is hosting a party three days from today?" He asks in surprise again.
"Why what's so shocking?" I ask Colton.
"It is believed that Farrell brings bad luck. Under weird circumstances a witch who told everyone how powerful he was died, and years later Farrell's father as well. Those two deaths were horrible and no one until now knows what caused them. People believe it's Farrell. He brings bad luck," Colton says.
I faintly remember hearing this. I was a kid back then. So I might not have paid much attention to any of it.
"I don't think it's safe for you to attend. He is bad news," Colton says again and I nod.
How bad can a person be especially when his own luck runs bad?
"Alright. Go out through the window. The guard who came earlier didn't see you. But he sniffed the scent and we can cover it by saying you were here but left after giving me the report," I tell him and push him towards the window.
"Things I do for you," he mutters with a chuckle before jumping down my window. It's not really that high and he landed perfectly without anyone watching him.
Once I made sure he left and no one saw him, I fell on my bed with the envelope still in my hand.
A pack whose gates are finally opened after eighteen years. And their Alpha called everyone for a party. And the Alpha who also is a synonym for bad luck.
Colton asked me not to attend but.. how bad can it actually be?
