Farrell's POV
"Mercy please, Alpha Farrell. Mercy," Alpha Riyan is on his knees before me. And no war needed. He probably understood that I killed twelve Alphas before I reached him.
"Did you show that to my mother?" I ask him and he looks at me, teary eyed.
"Did you have the same mercy when you plotted to kill me?" I asked him again.
"That wasn't my intention, Alpha Farrell. I just didn't want to end up on Louis's bad side," Riyan says.
Sebastian and I look at each other, exchanging bored glances. Louis indeed did so much behind me. He was walking by my side while plotting against me. I really have to give him that much, I guess.
I eventually let Alpha Riyan off the hook. His seven year old daughter was watching him this time. I already did something like that with Louis's son and I don't want to do it again.
Partially because I don't want to answer even to a kid. So I let him live but banished him from becoming the Alpha again.
Sebastian and I set up the tents right there since it was about time for the sun to set and it is dangerous to roam at night. My army is on their way to The Moon Set Pack. Aylee's pack. Sebastian and I would meet them there.
.
.
Right after Sebastian and I set up our tents, a messenger rides on his horse towards us. He bows to me first, a sign of respect. Usually someone belonging to the opposite party doesn't bow to the other person. It's either that or he knows who I am.
I glance at the seal and see that it's from the board of supernaturals. Because the seal has depictions of all supernatural creatures but not a wolf, somehow.
I quickly opened it to read.
Greetings, Alpha Farrell of The Nightfall Pack. We, the members of the board of supernaturals, hope this letter finds you well.
This is the first time a person of werewolf ethnicity is receiving a letter from us formally. Because we think one of you is now powerful enough to become one of us.
The board of supernaturals gladly invites you to become a member of this board. And doing so, you would be regarded as The King of Werewolves. Because only a Royal is supposed to be on board.
An introductory gathering would be held on the full moon of August, at the Mangroves closer to The Nightfall Pack. Looking forward to meeting you soon.
I roll my eyes and fold the paper again before throwing it inside my tent. I tell Sebastian everything about the letter and he is more than delighted to know that I am being offered the Royal status. The first of our race.
"Why aren't you happy, though?" Sebastian asks me, as soon as he sees that I am not mirroring his excitement.
"Who are they, to give me a Royal status?" I ask him back and he narrows his eyes, slightly confused.
"I am the one who defeated twelve Alphas making me an Alpha of twelve different packs. And I am on my way to be more. Now a Royal status is something I earned through sheer efforts and wins, who are they to offer me what I already won?" I ask him and he finally understands.
"So are you planning on ditching the introductory gathering or whatever it is called?" Sebastian asks me again.
"No. I'm going," I say and he looks even more confused. But that was just for a second before a smile cracks on his face, making it known that he finally understood what I mean.
I am going to attend it. But not to act like they want me to. Instead, to show them what I am capable of. That I earned the title and status and not just because they are offering me it. And that if I want to, I'll give them a tough fight as well.
Alpha Riyan sent Sebastian and I food, after we denied walking into the pack. Mom told me that my father used to do it. He used to wait for at least two days after a win, to let people adjust to the fact that they are getting a new Alpha. Subconsciously, I started doing it as soon as I started my journey as well.
"Meghan was asking me why you weren't returning her letters," Sebastian says as we both chug down some wine, staring at the stars.
"Because she was receiving every information that you sent her. Why bother sending another with just the same information?" I ask him back.
"Maybe because she feels happy if you write to her?" Sebastian asks me back.
Maybe. But I don't want to get myself into anything else now. My goal is set straight and I want to get back home as soon as possible, right after conquering all the packs across the continent.
"I have heard Alpha Aylee is a beauty. Wonder who her mate is," Sebastian whispers.
I haven't told anyone that Aylee is my mate. And I want to keep it that way for a while. I eventually wish him good night and walk into my tent to sleep. But who am I even kidding?
Because, I cannot help but think of Aylee. I want to know how she looks in real life. I only saw a portrait and that wasn't enough. Moreover it clearly looks like it dates back to two years, so it means she would be almost eighteen by now.
"What if she didn't recognise you as her mate, but still left without even greeting you at your own party?" Lyon asks me.
"Kindly don't ask me questions I don't know the answers to," I say because I still don't know why she had to leave just after ten minutes of her arrival.
It's alright. I am going to meet her tomorrow. I am finally going to see her for real. The one who is making my heart go crazy.
And I also cannot shake up the fact that my mom wanted to meet her so badly. That was the last thing she wanted to do, the day I lost her. I wonder if I can ever tell Aylee about it.
I hope I do.
Argh! Why isn't the night passing soon?
When is the day coming again?
How far is The Moon Set Pack from here?
Will I reach on time?
Is she going to be there when I get there?
What if-
"Shut the f**k up, and sleep!!" Lyon roars at me, making me roll my eyes.
I close my eyes, and with Aylee in my dreams I finally sleep faster than expected. I cannot wait to see her tomorrow.
