Her Human Mate

Chapter 8

Kelly, Garrett's mother is sitting on the back porch. She is looking across the yard. She thought she heard a howling noise. 

"Not tonight. I get so tired of animals killing poor dogs. "She said as she loads a rifle. After she loads the gun, she walks into her yard. Kelly decides she is going to follow the noises and kill the animal that is hurting the dog. 

Kelly continues to walk deeper into the woods. When she finally gets where she can see what is going on. She couldn't believe her eyes. 

Amos and  Dylan have a silver chain around a large wolf's neck. The wolf is chained to the tree. 

"Let the wolf go now," Kelly said as she is pointing the gun at the two men.

"Kelly, go back to your house. This is none of your business. " Amos said looking at her.

"You are on my land. I didn't give you permission to hunt anything here. Now  leave or be carried away." Kelly said still pointing the gun at him.

"Jackson is not going to like this," Dylan said shaking his head.

"What does Jackson have to do with this," Kelly asks now pointing the gun at Dylan.

"He gave us permission to be here and to do this," Dylan said looking at her than at the wolf.

"Shut up Dylan. You are talking too much." Amos said looking at Dylan

"Are you saying that my husband lets you all come on my land and hunt animals? Is that what you are telling me?" Kelly asks in an angry tone.

"Yes, I am."  Dylan said looking at her. Then he looks at Amos."Don't ever tell me to shut up" Dylan is still looking at Amos.

"This land belongs to my ancestors. No one is allowed to hunt here.  My ancestors did not believe in hunting. Especially not on our land, all animals are welcome to live here. Jackson has not right to give you or anyone else permission to be here. Now drop the keys to the chain and leave. If not I will shoot you two in places that will not be able to feel anything good with again. "Kelly said looking at Amos as he drops the keys on the ground.

Dylan and Amos turn and walk into the woods. Kelly picks up the keys unlocks the chain. The wolf looks into her eyes. Kelly is looking into the wolf's eyes. For some strange reason, she feels like she knows it. 

Kelly shook her head. "That is silly. " She is thinking as the wolf licks her hand  Before he runs off.

She stands up looking at the wolf running off.

"It's something strange going on here. Why has Jackson been letting them treat these poor wolves like that? My grandfather and father  are probably rolling over in their graves over this crap." She is thinking as she is walking back to her house.

"Across town"

Jackson is sitting in a bar with Theresa his mistress. When his cellphone rings. He looks at the caller Id. "What the f**k is Amos calling me for?" He asks as he answers it

"Phone Conversation"

Jackson: This better be damn good. What do you want?

Amos: Kelly caught us before we killed the beast. She had a gun and ran us off her land.

Jackson: Your ass is full of jokes. Kelly doesn't know how to use a gun.

Amos. She has been fooling your ass. It sure looked like she did tonight. She told us to never come on her land again. That you have no right to allow anyone to hunt on her land.

Jackson: We will have to see about this s**t when I get home.

"End of call"

"What's wrong with my big bear? " Theresa said looking at Jackson batting her eyes.

"Big bear needs to go home and take care of some s**t. I will see you tomorrow." Jackson said kissing her forehead. 

"But I want to go with you to South Carolina," Theresa said looking at him

"My son will be there. I don't want him to know about you." He said as he is standing up to leave the bar.

When Jackson arrives home. He walks in the front door looking around.

"KELLY, KELLY" He yells walking into the den. He freezes in his tracks over what he is looking at.  He is looking at Kelly sitting in a chair with a gun pointing at him.

"I am sure that Amos and Dylan has already told you what happened," Kelly said looking at him

"Yes, Amos called me. What are you doing with that gun? "Jackson said looking at her. He doesn't know if he should sit down or pour himself a drink.

"This land belonged to my ancestors for years. You know that my grandfather and father fought to keep everyone from hunting on this land. My father made me promise that I would not allow anyone to hunt here. I promised him that on his death bed. I aim to keep that promise. The next person that is hunting here will be prosecuted or dead. I don't care who it is. "Kelly said looking at him

Jackson decided that it is safe so he sits down. But he is still looking at his wife. He has never seen this side of her before.

"When did she get to be so f*****g strong." Jackson is wondering as he is looking at her.

"Also it's time for you to dump your little slut." I am not putting up with any more of your shit." Kelly said looking at him with the gun still pointing at him.

"What slut? I Have no idea what you are talking about." He said shaking his head.

"Do not play me for a fool. Theresa, you know your slut.   Dump her ass or your ass will be out on the street." Kelly said as she is walking out of the room.

"Damn, where in the hell did all this come from? " He said looking at the door.

"Honor and Garrett's pack"

Honor has ordered the pack to meet her and Garrett in the backyard.

"We called all of you here this morning to discuss the hunters and a few more things. We have a lead on them. But as of right now that is all we are saying. Nobody will be doing any running.  In a few weeks, my father, mother, Mate, and I will be in and out. But we will be close by. As always, Caitlyn will be first in charge then Sonja.  Nobody better give them any problems. I mean nobody. But if anything happens contact us." Honor said looking around at her pack.

"The hunters are not going to give up. But hopefully, they will not come back on our land. I will be joining the battles from here on out.  I will be fighting beside my Mate, your Alpha. We will protect our pack. " Garrett said looking around the pack.  He sees that Harris looking at him funny.

"Be careful, if you follow the rules. You will be safe. Enjoy the rest of your day." Honor said

"Are you sure you are ready to start fighting?" Kyle asks Garrett as he all walks into the house.

"Yes, after all, they are human and so am I. This is my destiny, my calling," Garrett said as Jay walks over to him, Kyle and Lee

"We need to train for a couple of hours," Jay said looking at Garrett.

"Okay, I am ready. Give me a minute."  Garrett said looking at Honor. "I will be back soon. I am going to train. Have you filled them in on everything yet? Garett looks at Sonja and Caitlyn.

"Some of it. I will tell them the rest as we patrolling  the borders." Honor said as Garrett kisses her forehead.

"Okay, you all be careful," Garrett, Kyle, Lee, and Jay said in unison.

"We will." Honor said as she, Sonja, and Caitlyn are walking out the door.

Honor tells them everything about Jackson, the spell, and why they will be staying at the house in the city.

"After all that you and Garrett managed to still find each other. It is so romantic. " Sonja said smiling looking at Honor.

Honors smile and nod her head.

"Damn, you and Garrett must have one hell of a bond," Caitlyn said looking at Honor.

Liberty starts talking to Honor.

"Honor keep your eyes open. I have a feeling that something is not right." Liberty her wolf said

"Okay, I have  the same feeling." Honor said looking around 

"End of link"

"Ladies be on alert.  We are not alone." Honor said sniffing the air.

Caitlyn and Sonja sniff the air.

"Pine, I smell pine trees," Sonja said looking at Honor and Caitlyn

"Hunters are close by. Be ready to shift at any time." Honor said as they continue to walk closer to the eastern border.

Chris and Benny his father are hiding in the woods a little across the border. Benny wanted to see the huge beast that his son and Jackson has been talking about. Benny decided that every night they would sit a little bit across from the fence. Hoping the beast would come.  Benny and Chris are looking through night vision binoculars.

"Son, we have been out here for hours.  All we have seen are  three beautiful ass women," Benny said looking  

"Yep, they are fine as hell," Chris said looking at Honor 

"I wonder what are they doing out here?" Benny said still looking at Honor, Caitlyn, and Sonja.

"Hell if I know but I sure as hell like the view," Chris said moving the binoculars down looking at Honor's ass.

"They need to take their asses away from here. I don't want anything to stop the beast from coming." Benny said looking at his son.

"Why? I like what I am looking at." Chris is still looking at Honor. 

"Back to the ladies"

"They are on the other side of the fence under that green tarp. Do not shift unless they do something." Honor said as they are turning around to walk back to the house.

"Those bastards are stalking us out," Caitlyn said.

"Yes, so it seems. But they are stupid. We do not have a pine tree anywhere out here." Honor said as they are reaching the house.

"I wonder why they didn't attack us?" Sonja said as they walk into the den.

"It seems they are waiting on something or someone." Honor said
