  Epilogue 2024 A nose poking me in the neck and a whispered, “Theo,” wakes me up. I blink my eyes open; it’s still dark outside, and when I squint at the alarm clock next to our bed, it’s only a little after midnight. The nose pokes me again and is followed by a hand sliding over my belly. “Theodoooore,” Kieran singsongs and pulls me closer to his body. “Why are you awake now?” I grumble but burrow deeper into his arms. When his chest rubs against my back, I let out a happy sigh. “Don’t you know why?” “Nu-uh.” I let my eyes fall closed again. Threads of sleep are pulling on me, threatening to take me over completely again, but Kieran won’t let me. “I’m very disappointed in you, husband.” Kieran is teasing me now; the smile is evident in his voice.
