"I want to divorce her but she doesn't want it. We were separated after I learned that she was cheating on me." My brother started to explain.
"What does she want? If she doesn’t want a divorce it means she wants something. Maybe money?" I asked and I took out my notebook to take note of his answer and to create a written record about it.
He sighed before answering me. "No, she doesn't want my money. I offered her some money before but she’s insisting about our marriage work. But she acted that way when she heard that I’m dating someone else now. She even threatening me that she will destroy my relationship and my girlfriend by telling people that I'm having an affair. I don’t want that to happen. I don’t want Sheila to get hurt. Sheila is my life now and I don't want to lose her."
I can't believe that this what my brother going through. A lot happened to them since the day I left.
Even though I don’t want to be here in front of them there is still inside me that wants to help my brother. Even for old time's sake.
I want to hear the whole story and I know I’ll know everything if agreed to help him.
I came back to my senses when Lucas hold my hand.
"You'll helping Theo, right?" Lucas plead.
I was about to say something when Xander pulled out Lucas’s hand on mine. Xander was glaring at Lucas while his jaw clenched.
Lucas frowned and looked confused about why Xander acting like that. I know he’s having an idea about what was happening but I don’t have time to explain it now.
I turned to Kuya Theo who still staring at me. I cleared my throat which creates a little sound before asking questions again.
"Do you have evidence that we can use to prove that she's having an affair? We need to prepare every evidence that you have and we need a plan to avoid the subject of your girlfriend Mr. Monteverde, it will be very difficult if that will happen. The judge will surely favor your estranged wife." I informed him.
I paused and drink water before continuing again. "We need the court to focus on her infidelity."
Xander groaned that’s why I looked at his direction. "We have evidence. We have photos of his ex-wife with her lover."
"Okay. But can we use it? Is the photo her will be good enough to make her guilty?" I asked.
"Yes. Of course! They're having s*x on those photos. Isn’t enough?!!" He’s starting to get irritated.
Kuya Theo and Alex stop him. I do not understand why he is mad. It looks like he was the one who has a wife who’s cheating on him. I smiled bitterly when I remembered that he turned his back on me because of a photo too.
"You believe in photos? You know photos can tell another story. It can turn an accident to one man's fantasy." I retorted back. He stared at me so I did the same.
We stared at each other in a while. I smiled when he was the first one to look away.
I flipped my hair.
He swallowed before he speaks.
"She admits it. And we don’t believe now in photos. We investigated more" he said and bow down.
I smirked. "That’s good. At least we have a piece of concrete evidence that we can use in the court to focus on her adultery..." I looked at them one by one. "It looks like you’re investigating first before assuming anything now. That’s really good..." Mocking them.
I sighed and returned my gaze to my older brother. He looks at me sadly as if he was guilty. I think I said too much. I breathe deeply before speaking again. "I will help you, Mr. Monteverde. I will help you to divorce your unfaithful wife"
He smiles at me as I stared at him. It’s too late for me to notice that he already holds my hand and caged it with both hands. "Thank you, baby sis."
I was surprised by what he said. I felt the walls that I build around started to get crumbled. In a single touch makes me want to hug him tightly.
It’s been a long time since I heard his endearment to me.
I looked at Lucas at questionably. After a minute his eyes start to widen as if he realizes something. I think he has now an idea about my relation to his friends.
We start to eat our lunch. We were quiet while eating and the only noise that you can hear around the room was moving of the utensils.
Suddenly I feel the urged to use the bathroom. I was about to stand up and excuse myself when I felt someone hold my arm and it was Xander.
I looked at him "Let go" I flatly said it.
"We need to talk"
"I said let go" I repeat.
Kuya Theo also speaks. "Xander, let her go."
Xander looked at me sadly. "I'll never let you go again. Not now, not ever!"
I know there was another meaning about what he said.
"I need to use the powder room." I stood up.
Lucas also stood up from his chair and held my hand. "I’ll go with you. I'll just wait for you outside" he said as he pulled me out of the VIP room. He took me in front of the powder room and wait for me outside.
As we were walking back the VIP room, Lucas suddenly spoke. "Now I knew a little thing about you..." he grabs my shoulders and make me face him. "I’m sorry if I took you here, I didn’t know that you’re related to them... Even I didn’t know everything that happens to you before, the only I know is they hurt you. And I heard a little detailed about through Theo’s mom. That they turned their back on you when you needed them the most. They realized it too late.” He looked at me and he caressed my face. "I know you've been hurt a lot but please don’t close your heart to your family. You know that want you to be happy."
I nodded to him and hugged him tightly. I felt him hugging me back.
Until someone pulled me. I immediately look who was it and it was Xander.
He was giving Lucas a murderous look. "Let go of her Evans before I strangled you to death" He threatened before pulling me back inside the VIP room.
"Let go of me, Xander. What’s wrong with you?" I snapped. I don’t mind even Kuya Theo and Alex were looking at us.
"Let go of you? And then what you’re going back at hugging Lucas?" his jaw clenched.
"It doesn't concern you whatever the hell we do. You don’t have the right to say anything about." I retorted back.
"Damn it!." he shout and let go of my arm. He walked closer to the table and sat down again in his seat.
After we had eaten, I decided to say goodbye. I can’t take the stare that Xander giving to me.
But before I can get away, Kuya Theo called me.
"Leanne."
I look at him. "Yes? What is it, Mr. Monteverde?"
He shook his head. "Can we talk?"
I forehead knotted. "You can call me through Lucas if you have a question about the case."
He shook his head again. "No. I want to talk to you. Not as my attorney but as my baby sister."
I stared at his eyes, I can that he really wants to talk to me. Even though I don’t know if I can, I still agree with him. He smiled at me after I agreed to him.
We left together without saying anything to others. Kuya Theo and I decided to go to a coffee shop near the resto.

After we ordered and get our coffee. We seat on near the corner of the coffee shop. There are few people inside.
Kuya Theo silently staring at me. I didn’t even know what to say so I just stare at my coffee.
After a couple of minutes, he starts to speak. "I'm so sorry princess! I'm really sorry if you felt that we pushed you away. I'm sorry if I doubted you...” his hand reach for my right hand and put it in his cheek. "I hope you can give us a chance to mend everything we did before. Mom and Dad were miserable when you left. They blaming themselves for not listening to you."
I don’t know what to say. I'm fighting my tears not to fall down but I failed. I couldn't hold back the tears from his words. I bit my lip.
" I know you can't forgive us right away but please give us a chance to make it up to you. I hope you can allow me to present you to mom. It’s her birthday tomorrow and we're going to have a family day. It was her request from her. I hope you agree, that I will take you there as a gift for mom not just for her but also to us, your family.”
I’m still part of their family? After running away from them.
His expression softens as he wiped my tears. "I’m going home tonight. I hope you can go home with me. If it’s not too much to ask." I looked at his pleading eyes.
I don’t know what came over me. But I actually nod my head to him, he smiled to me after.
I swallowed. "but I need to change my clothes first. Is it alright If we go to Lucas’s penthouse first?" I told him.
"Of course, we can baby sis." He was beamingly in happiness
I smile to him. I don’t know if it’s a good idea to go with him and to see my parents and little brother again. But there’s a part of me wants to be with them even if it will only be temporary.
